We eat shrimp, which are basically insects... "the closest classes in the phylum Arthropoda."

Lobster was considered to be disgusting and was fed to the poor and prisoners until the late 19th century. Same goes for salmon.

Bacon was considered "peasant food" and was mostly trash until 1961.
