My idea for a debate would be:
1) Dead mics for debater not speaking
2) Standing
3) After each candidate has answered a question, both mics off, and the fact checkers tell us which one lied the most

Gascon, I agree with you about sitting down and the mics - hopefully the moderators will stick to the time limit. I also like your idea about the fact checkers- it would be awesome if they could have it next to the screen in real time. Having these rules imposed on both candidates would keep things fair.
However, I think the debate (at least the one coming up) should be on ABC because that is where they were going to originally do it when Biden was still in the race. For future debates, I really like PBS ☺

Harris set the rules and now wants to change it. After a few days of debate prep, her team realized they were in trouble. They want to sit down, bring notes, and now open mike. She came remember and wants Trump to interrupt her so she won't have to talk as much. Real winner you got there, afraid of the press, especially Fox News, afraid of Trump, and nobody knows where she stands on anything and how she is going to implement whatever her policies are. Now if Trump or anybody gets her talking, it's game over.
