Sin is is whatever the Advocate convicts you of doing. If you have believed in Jesus and are keeping His commandments the Advocate will guide you to righteousness.

What is sinning against God? If you don't know what Sin is how are you going to feel remorse to REPENT? Jesus lays it out what His Father Said in Matthew 4. It is written: Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. What words came from God spoken to the Israelites by the Lord God. Those same words are spoken by the Lord God to all who believe in Jesus Not what God told Moses to tell man.

What business is it of yours whether I have repented for sinning?
I know that in John 16 verse 8 Jesus tells us that He will send the Advocate (NLT's Translation) to convict us of our sins. Whether one yields to the Advocate's convictions and repents is a personal matter.
I have strong doubts that you are the promised Advocate.

The definition of "repent" doesn't say anything about learning your lesson.
When I was a teenager we were taught that it was a sin to have sex. We all did it, and a lot of us always felt bad afterward... like we'd sinned. Then we did it again.
We all want to be happy, but sometimes we're taught that being happy is wrong. So we're torn between our desire to be happy, or being happy while feeling bad about being happy

How can a person regret and REPENT if they don't know what they did wrong in the first place?

Not ME. Jesus will. We are to live by the LAWS of God. If we don't we Sin. Sinning against the Laws of God is Sin.
