Why can't CHRISTIANS just OBEY Jesus?

Not to be too much a pedant, but Forky actually misquotes the Bible a lot of times. It's almost a full time job to Fact Check him.

He's slithery and wiggly like that.

Mikey constantly condemns the Christian religion yet quotes from the Bible that is the foundation of the Church of England, one of Christianity's largest denominations. The Authorized version of The Holy Bible was commissioned and authorized by James I of England and VI of Scotland and is the foundation of the Church of England. So, Mikey condemns millions of heretical Christians by quoting from a heretical Bible. Go Figure!

Forky, I appreciate your opinion about what keeping the "FAITH" requires, but weren't it you who puts people down for following some feller's "FALSE INTERPRETATIONS?" Since Jesus didn't say that I have to keep the Sabbath Day then, far as I can tell, I'm not beholding to keeping it. After all Jesus DID say "I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6) There ain't no "and Keeps the Sabbath" attached to that.

It seems to me that you can't point to a single verse that backs up any of your claims. So, either you are wrong by accident or are a BOLD FACED LIAR. My opinion is that it is the latter simply 'cause you've known all this before but keep repeating the same old bull****.

1 John chapter 2 verse refers to the commandments of Jesus, certainly not the "Ten Commandments."

Slither and hiss, little Forky, twist and wriggle. It suits you.

If you keep the FAITH in Jesus you will obey the keeping of the Sabbath Day.

Did Jesus keep the Commandment of God? Yes or No?

What does John say about keeping the Commandment.

1 John 2
King James Version
2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Forky, I can only assume that this is another one of your attempts to slither and hiss, twist and wriggle away from one of your lies. If it is, rest assured it is a poor attempt.

First, let's address the obvious. You cannot find the word "Sabbath" in John chapter 12 which you have posted and reposted as "proof" that Jesus said "The Sabbath Day is of the Lord" or "Keep the 10 Commandments" or "Rest on Saturday." No matter how many times you copy and paste John 12 verses 44-50 the word "Sabbath" nor the idea of "Sabbath Keeping" appear.

Second, since you asked so nicely on Tuesday May 14th at 4:16pm, I will (to quote you) "Put it in your [my] own way of thinking." Here goes:

John 12:44-50 by the self described Gentlemen with Questionable Parentage

44 The Jesus loudly said, "Everbody who believes in Me is really believing in the one what sent Me. 45 Everbody who sees Me is really seeing the one what sent Me. 46 I came into this world to bring light. I came so that everbody who believes in Me will not stay in the dark. 47 I didn't come here to judge people, I came to save them. I ain't the one what judges folks who hear what I teach then don't obey. (48) There is a judge for all them people what refuse to believe in Me and do not accept what I say. What I have said will judge them on the last day. (49) That is 'cause what I taught was not My words or My idea. My Father sent Me and He hold Me exactly what to say and exactly what to teach. (50) I know that whatever He told Me to say and teach will bring eternal life. So, the things what I say are exactly what He told Me to say."

So, in my way of thinking and by a plain reading of not just my adaptation of the text, but in every adaptation of the text, Jesus never mentions the Sabbath or any of the Ten Commandments, only that God the Father told him what to say. SInce we have no record of Jesus mentioning the 4th Commandment, we can (if we believe Jesus) assume that God decided that it weren't required and didn't tell Jesus to pass it along.

No matter what you Christians say or do. You are not part of Jesus but that of Man. You read the teaching of Jesus but it meaningless to you. May your eyes be opened up for TRUTH..

John 14
King James Version
14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Forky, why feel sorry for me? I ain't the feller what told first about what Jesus said and put down others based on them lies.

I know you ain't got a lot of book learning, but what you made up and what Jesus actually said have two different meanings. Kind of like the difference in "Forky made a mistake", and "Forky is a ****ed liar "

It is impossible to interpret what Jesus actually said as any "Commandment" to rest on Saturday

Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

gentlemen I feel sorry for you that you can't accept Jesus at his word.

What does so the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath mean?

"So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." In this passage Jesus reveals his identity as the Lord of the Sabbath. Though Jesus has the image of a servant, he rules the Sabbath with the authority of God. To do so, Jesus fought and won spiritual battles.

Forky, none of those verses say what you quoted on Monday.at 4:58pm.

I'm waiting on that verse.

Either provide it or remain a BOLD FACED LIAR.

gentlemen .. will you hear Truth., The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath" is a phrase that appears in the Bible in Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:28, and Luke 6:5, where Jesus refers to himself as the Lord of the Sabbath

Forky, you keep slithering and hissing and twisting like the ole serpent in Eden.

On Monday around 4:58pm you wrote (and I quote--see, the difference betwixt us is that I can cite when I quote somebody) " Jesus says the Sabbath Day is of the Lord.

If you ain't a BOLD FACED liar, tell the good readers of the Forum (and me) where you found that quote.

It's easy just post the verse. You don't have to slither and hiss and twist. You typed the words, own them.

And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Forky, if what you quoted is "True" then you won't have any problem posting the verses from where you took the quotes. After all when you said "Jesus said 'The Sabbath is of God'" you were pretty specific. I'd just like to read it for myself.

Or, I guess, you can keep on slithering and being all fork tongued about it. Where I come from they call people that do that "****ed Liars." What do they call fork tongued people where you come from?

gentlemen you go directly against what Jesus taught . if you did like what Jesus taught you would obey his WORDS. Nowhere does Jesus say to follow traditions CREATED by man. On the contrary. We are to teach the truth about what Jesus taught. That is through his sacrifices we can receive ETERNAL LIFE if we believe and be faithful to him

I like what Jesus taught and said just fine.

If you were actually quoting what Jesus said you would be able to tell us where you were quoting from.

However, since you are a fork tongued slithering lying snake you have to slither and squirm when your bull**** is called out.

gentlemen. Don't you like what Jesus taught? You are just like the Jew that crucified Jesus for speaking Truth. Satan don't like TRUTH just like you... I tell you truth just as Jesus taught. Christian religion is Satans.

John 15

20 Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.'

lol. Breaking the LAWS of God is Sinning. You Christian are Satan's. You don't even know who I am yet you condemn me. What kind of Christian religion should I follow and obey? I obey Jesus that's why you Christians don't care about hearing TRUTH. Why should I obey traditions of religion when that is a road map to the Lake of Fire. Christian religion was CREATED by the Pharisees in Antioch. Jesus said It is Finished. Jesus left us his WORD for us to obey.

John 16:4-15
King James Version
4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

6 But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
