If you a registered voter, why would you mind showing you ID.
There are two main reasons for me.
1. The concept is based in racism. We know that black people are much more likely to NOT have a government ID... "Nationally, 25% of Black and 16% of Latino voting-age citizens have no form of government issued photo ID, compared to just 8% of whites."

I know you're thinking... why don't they just go get one? But most people live in cities and don't have a car, so getting to the DMV isn't a simple 5 minute drive... if it's possible at all.
The whole purpose is to make it harder for Democrats to vote.
2. The right wing Heritage Foundation has only found 4 cases of voter fraud in 2020, and none of them would have been prevented by voter ID.
So this isn't even a real issue, it's just a distraction created to excite the GOP base and make them think that the election was stolen by fraud... creating an issue where none exists, while ignoring real issues.

I will go to the polls with my birth certificate, driver's license, library card, current utility bill and voters registration card as proof positive that i am who I am and that I live where I live. That should be more than enough verification for any certified election official. I will also be accompanied by Old Hickory whose job it will be is to convince any unauthorized "poll watcher" that who I am, or what I am is none of their dumm business. Note: A party membership card does not qualify as authorization to Old Hickory or me!

As an independent, I am not against voter ID. But it has to be eaay to do, fair and free.

I don't want an ID to buy cold meds, get into a public place (that my tax dollars go to support), or to vote.
But that's just me.

Jose sneaks over the border with a duffel bag full of fentanyl and sells it in NYC. With the huge profit he's made he gets an expert forger to make him a naturalization certificate, voter registration card and a driver's license. He does all this so that he can vote for the Democrats. Or maybe a less complicated scenario would be a Democrat party representative visits a migrant detention camp, then drives a load of illegals to the nearest party headquarters where they're made US citizens so that they can vote for the Democrats. Those two hypotheses are ridiculous, but no more so than the kind of crap the MAGATS are spewing. Talk to any naturalized citizen and they you will tell you how difficult it is to become a citizen. There's the initial visa, student or work permit. Then there's the permanent resident permit or green card, after which comes the petition for naturalization. All this takes a great deal of time and involves interviews, finger printing, lawyers and money. Unless you're a Nazi rocket scientist or Trump's in laws.

Over half of the US states require ID to vote. Most countries around the world require ID to vote. If you are a political group that cries and whines and has fits over voter ID then you plan to cheat during the election. It's like a friend of mine said at they're mother's funeral. She died in september, and they commented: It will be okay, she planned to vote democrat anyway.

I owned a business in a lower income section of a major NC city. I had a check clearing company that I put all my checks through. You had to have ID for them to OK A check. Some came in without a driver's license, but they always had a state ID card with a picture. This is just a ploy to have noncitizens vote and it is wrong.

If you a registered voter, why would you mind showing you ID. The last big election, I had my ID ready to show and was told she couldn't ask or look at it. This is ridiculous!!!!
