Right now, the military war machine including Ukraine and illegal immigration are benefiting from our deficit spending. But here are real numbers of deficit spending. Under George W. Bush, the national debt grew from 5.73 trillion to 10.63 trillion, a 85.5 increase. Under Barack Obama, the national debt grew from 10.63 to 19.96 trillion, a 87.8 increase. Under Donald Trump, the debt grew from 19.96 to 27.77 trillion, a 39.1 increase. So Biden started off with 27.77 trillion deficit and currently over 34,758,000,000,000.. Now Bush had 9 11 which had an effect on the economy and spending on military. Obama had the Great Recession and Trump had Covid. What did Biden have that wasn't self inflicted? 94 executive orders in the first 100 days on immigration. If the Biden administration had just said Ukraine was not joining NATO, no war. The only thing Joe is 100 percent at is being wrong.

I suspect the national debt has much to do with the fact that our money buys about 1/3 less than it did three years ago.

If you answer this question, you might realize why no one wants it paid off.
