Hester's will always be #1 in my book! And in my tastebuds!

roaringriverman, I agree with you on the hot dogs! Hester's were the top of the line. As it has been a long time now, I wonder if there are many folks around who ate them and remember those Sat. night wonders. I think that the Igloo makes a good hot dog and I will eat a sample from Harrold's soon for comparison.

Would love me a good footlong dog. Is Igloo accross from Tyson/ Millers Creek?

The ingredients are the same. If you go when Kay is at the Igloo, no problem. When you go without Kay there it is as different as night and day. If you order a split fried hot dog it comes out of the deep fryer looking like a Slim Jim and slapped together in a cold bun like Run In. Just my opinion. I eat at both and enjoy both but there is a difference.

Old school I guess me saying I never ate at Harold's gave it away. Igloos hot dog is good even with a spoon.

Old school FWIW, upon request they do split fry the hotdogs and the buns are lightly toasted as well. I do ask for that when I go get supper at times.

Wrong. Both are owned by same family but lots of difference in hot dogs. First, Igloo does not slit fry the meat, or toast the bun. A deep fried or boiled hot dog does not have the flavor of a split fried hot dog. Second, if the slaw is not drained from an Igloo hot dog you just about got to eat it with a spoon. Harold's buns are lightly tasted and you can actually pick it up in your hand and eat it. Both are the best two hot dogs around but I can tell many of you have never been to Harold's. Both are great places to eat and ran by very good people, you won't go wrong with either one but my preference is Harold's way of fixing it

Same lady owns both Harold's and Igloo unless she has sold one. Igloo has very good dogs, had one 2 weeks ago.

A lot of restaurants are pushing Nathan's hotdogs, but I think they're way too salty!

Have you tried Lost Wombat? I think theirs has a much better flavor.
