So can anyone tell me why no/few farmers are selling vegetables at the north wilkesboro farmers market? And yes the parking area is awful.

The town of North Wilkesboro seems to be **** bent on killing off the Farmer's market with their artificial turf foolishness. They are sacrificing their parking for fake grass put down on concrete with no drainage so people can relax on it five nights a year.

Whose idea was that?

Parsons Farm is kind of hit and miss. We got some really good corn there the first time we went. Went back and the corn was kind of wilted when we cooked it (It was not shucked so we didn't know that until we got home). I think it was not fresh and was not near as good as the first corn. Ended up throwing it away. Got a good cantaloupe there. Meat is not as good as AB Prime (In my opinion).

Overall a decent option for locally grown stuff. I have heard that David's Market also has good produce, but I have not been there yet.

Senior flint, Have you tried the store at Parson's farm? Located at the end of Oak Grove Church off old old421 toward Millers Creek.

Anon, are you saying that the farmers are not going to the farmers market?

Everything is very expensive and labor intensive to grow. With a lot of dry weather crops would have to be watered this year.

I have tried to go there the last 3-4 Tuesdays. Three times there was no one there at 3:30. Once there was only one person set up to sell. And besides that, that iron fence restricts entrance/exit and makes parking difficult. What's the deal?
