In addition to the $0.27 per lb turkey, Food Lion currently has sweet taters for $0.25 per lb.

The OP did ask about saving money...
Consider that a Butterball is $1.29 a pound versus an off brand for $0.29... for a 30lb bird that's a savings of $30.
With about $5 worth of brining ingredients, that's still $25 saved.
Coming from a guy that was just whining about the cost of peanut oil going up by $10 over the last 5 years, I would think that saving $25 would be relevant to you...

Two gallons of peanut oil at Walmart is $34.32...
It was $23.96 in 2019...
It's true that Trump's Depression affected the price, but a 31% increase in 5 years isn't quite the same as the 100% increase that you're claiming.
It's a little cheaper at Lowes Food if you're trying to save money, $33.98 for 2 gallons...

We used to deep fry in peanut oil until Bidenflation doubled the cost of the oil. It wasn't cheap before.

The best turkey you'll ever have, if you make it right. My sister in law lives in Lancaster Pa. and buys one every year. She is bringing one down this year for Thanksgiving packed on ice.

Butterball turkeys are pre-brined and injected with salt water, which is why they taste better and are juicier.
You can save a lot of money, though, by buying an off brand turkey and brining it yourself.
Heat 2 gallons of water, 3 cups of apple cider, 2 cups of salt, and 2 cups of brown sugar on the stove until the salt and sugar are melted. Cover, and let it cool.
Thaw the turkey completely, then add it to the water solution. Make sure that the bird is completely covered in water! Then put it in the fridge for at least 16 hours, no more than 24 hours.
After it has soaked, take it out of the brine, rinse it in cold water, then pat it very dry before cooking.

Food Lion, Butterball .99 lb 10 lbs or larger. Fresh Butterball turkey for $1.29. They also have frozen turkey for .29 lb with $35 additional food order. Don't know about Aldi.
Keep in mind it takes much longer to thaw a turkey in the refrigerator than what the wrapper says.

Since not everyone liked dark meat, try a small whole turkey and a turkey breast or 2 breasts Or a breath and small ham

First don't buy a butter ball watch the adds and get a non name brand sometimes you can find them for .99 cents a pound. It's all how you cook it not the name.
