It has been a Roman Catholic scam for over 5 centuries. It is more likely to have wrapped the body of Jacques de Molay the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar, after he was tortured by order of Philip IV. Later he was slowly roasted to death at the behest of Pope Clement V.
