Democrats never have had any respect for the Constitution or attempt to lawfully change the laws. They also do not understand how separation of powers work. There is a way to legally challenge current laws but there is not a lawful way of disregarding them. I do not know anyone that owns a bump stock and not very many people that could afford to shoot one if they had it.

I know a lot of gun owners from friends and family to gun club members However I don't know anyone with a bump stock. That said I do know several people with legit full auto firearms.


I also don't know anyone with a Ferrari either that doesn't mean people who can afford them shouldn't be able to buy one.

Maybe but that doesn't change the fact that a bump stock doesn't make a semi auto a full auto mechanically. It also doesn't meet the requirements under the law as passed by congress.

Another fun fact is you don't really need a bump stock a shoe string will do the same thing

Part of the problem is most people don't know what the laws are or how firearms work and only know what they see on MSNBC or CNN. My mom used to believe that you could by machine guns at Walmart because thats what she heard on some leftest talk show

It might be a step in the right direction if congress passed a law banning all firearms that can fire more than one round with a single pull of the trigger. This way guns would still be legally available for those that used them for legitimate purposes but restrict the lethality of legally acquired firearms. Couple that with gargantuan sentences for anyone possessing a fully automatic weapon and it could reduce the occurrence of mass shootings and reduce the number of victims.

They already did in 1934 and expanded it in 1986 the law doesn't apply to bump stocks because a semi auto rifle with a bump stock still only shoots one round per pull of the trigger. A bump stock doesn't turn a semi auto into a full auto.

I can't find the thread but it was in reference to the pro Palestine protests on college campuses. You said something to the effect of "ehh I don't care because I hate both these whiny college students and the JBT cops."

As for Roe, I understand your assertion I just find it weird that you think placing that choice in the hands of the states, which will directly lead to less personal freedom for individuals, is a good thing. Especially when I think the 9th amendment was made for exactly these circumstances.

I don't remember any post about college protests so please provide a link. As to Roe v. Wade being over turned the court simple said that abortion was a state issue to be handled at the state level and not the federal level which is correct.

Just what rights are you referring to? I am always against the GOV. " local, state, federal" over stepping its powers and sticking its nose where it doesn't belong.

Like Alito wrote in the opinion, Congress can change the language of the law and bump stocks can be banned.

In a concurring opinion, Alito, an appointee of former President George W. Bush, said that he had to rule against the federal ban "because there is simply no other way to read the statutory language" and added that it was up to lawmakers to change that language so that bump stocks could be banned.

"There is a simple remedy for the disparate treatment of bump stocks and machineguns. Congress can amend the law-and perhaps would have done so already if ATF had stuck with its earlier interpretation," Alito wrote. "Now that the situation is clear, Congress can act."

Its purpose doesn't matter neither does why someone would want one. What matters is the ATF tried to ban something it had no authority to ban in the first place. Then they tried to claim that it made a semi auto rifle a machine gun which it doesn't do under the definition of a machine gun laid out in law passed by congress in 1934. The ATFs jobs is to enforce the law as passed by congress and signed by the president not to make up BS rules that they claim are law.
