Let's see, the one person who has been in government over fifty years, who has been determined by a federal prosecutor incompetent to stand trail is wanting to change the laws on another branch of government. Totally amazing. But I am for term limits, especially Congress and competency tests for all employees after a certain age. Will the democrats never learn and leave the courts alone? If Harry Reid had left it alone but he wanted the simple majority and now you got the whining.

The legislative branch cannot impose term limits or anything else upon the judicial branch according to the US Constitution. The legislative branch can impose term limits on themselves.

If President Biden felt strongly about reforming the federal courts one is compelled to ask why he didn't make similar proposals while serving as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee? Nothing has changed save the ideological makeup of the Supreme Court.
I do not oppose President Biden's proposals because they were made by President Biden. I oppose them because they are politically motivated. The Founding Fathers gave lifetime appointments to the Federal Judiciary to insulate those Judges and Justices from the other two branches of government.

This won't fly as there is a stated separation of powers; judicial, legislative, and executive (checks and balances) per the US Constitution. If this balance is usurped and true dictatorship (one man) or pure democracy (mob rule) is imposed, you better prepare for a bloodbath in everytown, USA. Most of you ain't.

Historically, Republicans and Democrats have greed on Supreme Court reform... including an end to lifetime appointments.
In response, Biden proposed an amendment to the US Constitution that would no longer make former Presidents immune from criminal prosecution, as well as a plan for staggered 18 year appointments, with a new Justice being appointed every 2 years.
He is also pushing for a new code of ethics that would require Justices to disclose gifts... like the millions in gifts that were recently discovered.
Do you agree or disagree?
These are policies that we've pretty much all agreed on in the past, but does the fact that it's Biden presenting it change your opinion?
