Prior to 2016 very little was made of vote fraud. Even when Bush's brother screwed Al Gore in Florida it was more or less shrugged off. But in 2014-15 we started to hear about the big steal even before the election took place. At the same time the differences between Republicans and Democrats were fanned into fires of hatred. So, what was the common factor with the two phenomena? Trump! After Trump took office, I lowered the flag in front of our house to half-staff. The following morning, I saw that it was flying at full staff, and I mentioned it to my wife. She said that she had pulled it back up. When I asked her why she said, "you know what these people are like around here, they're liable to damage our property or something." We never feared our neighbors before, and our political differences were just that and no more. What changed that? Trump! My wife and I reached a compromise, for the next four years the flag did not fly in front of our house.

This was happening in Georgia during the 2020 election. Joe Biden "won" the state by 11,779 votes after Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger promised on November 4 that the counting would be finished and President Trump's over 103,000 vote lead was insurmountable. When you count ballots multiple times in a state anything can happen.
