I went to tonight's meeting, so I have my own breakdown:
It's true that Stoney Greene officially stepped down as Chairman at 4:59pm, just before the meeting. There was no real discussion about it, and Casey Joe Johnson (Vice Chairman and presumptive Chairman) led the meeting.
There were 9 people signed up to speak. 7 of those comments were about Stoney and dogfighting.
Victor Varela, former mayor of Ronda, also spoke out and questioned Stoney's ability to lead.
Wayne Pacelle, former CEO of Humane Society of the United States and founder of Animal Wellness Action (and the author of the statement posted on here a few weeks ago) flew in from DC to speak in favor of the FIGHT Act, and to condemn the local dog fighters / c*ckfighters.
Another man, Blane (something) flew in from Oklahoma to speak out against the FIGHT Act.
Stoney Greene did not comment throughout the entire meeting.
Later, Commissioner Greg Minton read the resolution to support the FIGHT Act, and Commissioner Keith Elmore seconded it. The resolution passed unanimously (even Stoney Greene voted in favor).
Then they went into closed session. I have not yet confirmed whether Stoney Greene will be removed from his appointed board positions or if he'll be stepping down entirely, but I'll update once I've confirmed anything.
Also WXII news was there, and even someone from Washington DC that broke the story on the internet about his dogfighting past.
For the record, it broke on GoWilkes
Me and another guy (anonymous until he says otherwise) brought it to Mr. Pacelle's attention, not the other way around.
