I don't think I've ever met the guy, but from has been said on here he has all of the common signs of Sociopathy...

* Lack of empathy for others
* Impulsive behavior
* Attempting to control others with threats or aggression
* Using intelligence, charm, or charisma to manipulate others
* Not learning from mistakes or punishment
* Lying for personal gain
* Showing a tendency toward physical violence and fights
* Generally superficial relationships
* Sometimes, stealing or committing other crimes
* Threatening suicide to manipulate without the intention of actually doing it
* Abusing drugs or alcohol
* Trouble with responsibilities such as a job, paying bills, etc.

Every one of those bullet points have been used to describe him in this thread, with the exception of "threatening suicide to manipulate."

Wondering if Stoney has rabies or fleas? Asking for a friend......

Looks like his whole life evolves around deception.

Looks like he had deception in his private married life. Deception in his attempt at politics. Deception in the arrest in NJ. And his deception involving a woman at ABDA.

If he lied on the expungement application saying he was no longer involved with dog fighting he could probably face contempt of court charges and the expungement be reversed. Contempt of court charges carry minimum jail sentences also.
He obviously continued being active in the dog fighting world long after his arrest. That is based on his on admissions and advertising in Underground dog fighting magazines

Not sure about contempt, but what we can say for sure if that he did not find it important to seek an expungement until he was in this campaign based on what he told the Wilkes Journal Patriot.

Why was that important to him at that time but it was not important before? Anyone in their right mind would know it was to cover it up from the people. It was his legal right to seek the expungement, my issue is the timing of it. Candidates for public office should be transparent with the voters. We can't trust anyone who uses process to hide things from the pubic when they are in elected positions.

This is deception on Stoney's part.

I don't think you know animal lovers. This will not be forgotten, and we will not stay quiet.

Are you talking about the dog fighting charge in NJ that he did not inform voters about and it was just expunged like 2-3 weeks ago when he found out people found it?

Well I for one did not know Stoney's past, but I also didn't vote for him either time.

Same. I don't think it was common knowledge, he just had cronies that didn't say anything.

I will say, it appears (?) he was not convicted. A charge and a conviction are two different things.

He went through a rehab program, and then had the charge expunged.

This thread is overwhelming, but if you go back to the beginning you'll see that there are obvious connections to dog fighting as recent as 2020. And some national organizations were on here saying that he was a well known dog fighter.

The accusation of sexual misconduct in 2020 was confirmed by his attorney, too.

So let me ask, when is all of this supposed to come down with the media and such?

The JP and Record kept it very quiet... no big surprise, Stoney and his cronies have big ads in both.

The election is over and he lost, so I doubt that the TV stations are going to do anything. The story's over...

GoWilkes is pretty much it... the story broke here, and we made him lose the election. Now the commissioners and local GOP party are feeling pressure to make him step down.

If that doesn't happen in the next 2 months, though, then nothing will happen. The majority will forget, and when he's up for reelection in 2 years he'll probably win. People just don't have the energy to be mad for 2 years, and no Republican candidate is going to use it against him in the Primaries.

They have to admit if they have been charged with a felony. I bet there is no question about have you broken the law, or if have you been involved in drugs, dog fighting , bootlegging , wife beating, and various crimes that sone Wilkes county men commit?

Dog, I can't confirm what SG says, but I can an ex county commissioner that said he went through the process including a background check. Now whether he provided that information voluntarily or involuntarily I don't know but it's my understanding, all does go through the process of being verified due to the legality of the position held.

With the dirt SH has on the other Commissioners I doubt they will do anything. They don't want him to expose them.

I have heard that is another one of his statements that he went through a background check. However, when someone questioned officials, they said they do not do background checks. So it appears another lie he is telling.

And Clarence, don't forget his other comment. " don't tell nobody."

Clarence yes I was born in 1977, my point is to be a commissioner like any job there is a back ground check, All the above yada yada. I didn't vote for him due to his character and shady bull crap but that's why we have a vote and even though people change, whether it's right for me to harbor feelings about someone's past or not I can only vote my conscience.

I'm sure people knew about his past like I'm sure people knows about the past of others that was in a certain drug ring yet owns many car washes and how the banking system in Wilkes was at one time , just a few things I heard abut growing up and some has been confirmed factual, yet some of these individuals are on the boards of the community. If we are to hold people accountable then let's hold people accountable but it's not just one man or woman in my opinion. SG may have changed idk and nor do I care but he lost and hopefully we will have someone with less skeletons in their closet that no one has dug for as of yet.
