The people need to show up in DROVES to every single meeting until he quits all together. The people need to stay strong and stand firm until it happens.

It's also worth noting that, when the video of the meeting is released, you can watch who applauds after each public comment and who sits there silently. I thought that was pretty interesting.

I went to tonight's meeting, so I have my own breakdown:

It's true that Stoney Greene officially stepped down as Chairman at 4:59pm, just before the meeting. There was no real discussion about it, and Casey Joe Johnson (Vice Chairman and presumptive Chairman) led the meeting.

There were 9 people signed up to speak. 7 of those comments were about Stoney and dogfighting.

I didn't note the order, but Megan Barnett was one of the first to speak. She started out by reading an except from article that stated that dog fighters were typically sociopaths that enjoyed hurting animals... and from there it got less friendly

Victor Varela, former mayor of Ronda, also spoke out and questioned Stoney's ability to lead.

Wayne Pacelle, former CEO of Humane Society of the United States and founder of Animal Wellness Action (and the author of the statement posted on here a few weeks ago) flew in from DC to speak in favor of the FIGHT Act, and to condemn the local dog fighters / c*ckfighters.

Another man, Blane (something) flew in from Oklahoma to speak out against the FIGHT Act.

Stoney Greene did not comment throughout the entire meeting.

Later, Commissioner Greg Minton read the resolution to support the FIGHT Act, and Commissioner Keith Elmore seconded it. The resolution passed unanimously (even Stoney Greene voted in favor).

Then they went into closed session. I have not yet confirmed whether Stoney Greene will be removed from his appointed board positions or if he'll be stepping down entirely, but I'll update once I've confirmed anything.

Also WXII news was there, and even someone from Washington DC that broke the story on the internet about his dogfighting past.

For the record, it broke on GoWilkes Me and another guy (anonymous until he says otherwise) brought it to Mr. Pacelle's attention, not the other way around.

Here's a news headline (as if the local paper would run the truth)
"Dog fighter turned into a whipped puppy with his tail tucked between his legs"

He looks gay with those wannabe hats

Said not a word, he tried to get so low in his chair, hat pulled so far down could barely see his pathetic face.

I refuse to say his name its only SG from this day forward.
SG go away, your time was never, and you need to leave!

I got the news that he resigned as chairman. And they passed the FIGHT resolution. Also WXII news was there, and even someone from Washington DC that broke the story on the internet about his dogfighting past.

And I heard the coward did not open his mouth. He needs to go. We need to continue till he goes back to the hills.

Now we need to get rid of him as a commissioner.

I hope someone looks into his selling of votes.

No, he does not think abusing helpless animals is wrong

Any words of remorse?

The State Police need to look into Stoney and his dealings

Actually

You think Stoney watched videos of his dogs getting tortured to death and rubbed one out?

He is a sick person.

Sown, Sewn, now there are two hard to remember words. But aside from that, you are correct, Greene needs to go.

100% Thomas Hobbins! They way I see it is Greene was blood thirsty when it came to his fighting /hurting/ maiming dogs for a quick buck now he is reaping what he has sewn...the taxpayers of Wilkes are out for blood when it comes to getting his arse booted out of any and all positions within this county

This isn't a political issue. It's about a liar who used animals for his sick pleasure and personal gain while crusading as a champion for integrity

Stoney you got busted. Let that sink in
