It's always been obviously crooked, but since his companies are private there's no legal way to see who's giving him money... or how much.

Maybe we need that investigated too. Never made sense that they spent $22M on a 45,000 sq ft building when they could have purchased a 450,000 building with 50 acres for $7M. But when you have 3 incompetent people, what do you expect?

Sadly, yes. As the Chairman he had a lot of say on who got contracts, so of course businesses had to play the game if they want the contract. Or they could just use his businesses more and funnel money to him that way.
Nobody rides for free and all that...

I guess the county manager and county clerk might get a free pass, too. It was probably up to the commissioners whether to give them a cost of living pay raise, and they had to grease the wheels to get their raises...

Stoney Greene reported receiving $6,400 from Matthew Dice, owner of Martin Roofing in North Wilkesboro; $3,200 from Speedway MotorSports Inc. in Concord, owner of the North Wilkesboro Speedway; $1,000 from Piedmont Triad Anesthesia Federal Political Action Committee in Winston-Salem; and $1,000 from Melvin Moore Logging Co. in Wilkesboro.
Greene received $500 apiece from Joe Greene, manager of US Hazmat, Deep Gap; Randall "Rudy" Holbrook, owner of Southeastern Auto, Ronda, and chairman of the Wilkes Board of Education; Jeffrey Hudspeth, owner of Cedar Creek (Game) Farms, Ronda; and David Lytton, Wilkesboro. Greene reported receiving one $37 contribution and 10 of $50 each.
Greene received $100 apiece from Wilkes County Manager John Yates, Purlear; Sarah Call, Wilkesboro, clerk to the county commissioners; Frances Tharpe, Hays; Rev. David Wellborn, pastor of Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church, North Wilkesboro; Fred Costello, Realtor, Costello Realty, Moravian Falls; Evan Handy, financial advisor, Wells Fargo Advisors, Wilkesboro; Eddie Holland, property manager, ECMD, Wilkesboro; Billy Anderson, Moravian Falls; Kirk Mathis, farmer, Roaring River; Darwin Nichols, sales, Miller Manufacturing, North Wilkesboro; Marty Roberts, owner/manager, Rid-A-Bug, Hamptonville; Bronda Nichols, North Wilkesboro.

I would be very suspicious of any of these people or organizations that don't publicly address their donation.
The only one that I would be willing to give a free pass is the Speedway. While at first glance it seems like they just got $18 million + $4 million a year from the state to turn around and funnel it to other politicians, we all know that they need for the county to do things for them, too. I can imagine that they didn't have much of a choice but to give Stoney a little money in exchange for his vote...

I wouldn't waste my time trying to get any of our local authorities involved. It's at a Federal level now and I wouldn't be surprised if some local authorities aren't being investigated also.

This is now an ongoing Criminal Investigation with people close to Greene coming forward and cooperating with authorities. It's a lot Bigger than just him at this point and those who want to continue covering and supporting him are a part of criminal conspiracy.
He has no problem taking everyone down with him.

I have not heard anything. I think we must continue to report his bad deeds. Newspapers in larger cities should be notified. And even networks. I noticed that one of the animal groups that reported it before the election has done another story about it.

Dulld I'm sorry you don't feel appreciated and that your dogfighting friends can't understand that they are criminals. But in the real world there's something called the rule of law.
The fact that you brag about offing your fellow soldiers doesn't make you look tough. It makes you look the same way as defending dogfights. Like a mentally broken fool.
