I didnt say nothing about a party. Maybe you were expecting one. I said late to the game. I also said Stoney was in power an its my knowledge that a county commissioner has a certain amount of power. They had the power to not buy the Lowes property that everyone is *****ing about.

"In power?" He has held elected office for two years. He has been Chairman of the County Board of Commissioners since December. Is that "power?"

It would appear that you and I came to this particular party at exactly the same time though. I would have decorated it differently and played a different kind of music had I helped plan the party, but alas, the world doesn't always revolve around me, much to my chagrin.

Mistress, seems like you are late to the game. How long has he been in power?

I find it odd that, according to the Wilkes County GIS site, no person named "Stoney Greene" owns any real property in Wilkes County. Since property taxes are one of the responsibilities of the County Commission, it seems rather short sighted of us, as voters, to elect someone who has no "skin in the game."

That is just my opinion though.

So from multiple people I have heard that when contacted to get "his side of the story" no response, through f@, they were ignored and blocked, and several I have spoken with have tried to get the message out on the county pages and administrators would not publish....does the corruption run that deep? Some may want to ask themselves is this kind of person worth the effort to continue to keep covering up all the lies, greed, and cruelty? I should surely hope not!

Thank you GoWilkes !

I have concern gowilkes will loose advertisers over this because the good old boy system has influence over local business.

I am not in any way affiliated with gowilkes. I think this is a very important platform, and it's highly important people ask businesses to advertise with gowilkes to make sure this site stays around.

GO WILKES ,

Thank you for your website. The truth got exposed. What a great day!! Thank you for allowing the truth to be told. Too many people have been covering up the truth.

Wilkes county citizens should be demanding that candidates go through background checks covering criminal backgrounds and financial problems. Maybe we should start an organization demanding this from the county.

Well Wilkes Co has a black eye over Stoney, there is simply no way if he is elected to NC House that any of the other House members will work with Stoney. It would be better if the seat was vacant than for him to fill it.

It's out there now in a big way. Please share this link, it will show the world the people of Wilkes will not tolerate dog fighting.

I am interested to see if our Local media will remain silent over this?

I just received this press release that's been sent out:

Animal Wellness Action Calls Out N.C. House Candidate Long Associated with the Barbaric and Criminal Practice of Dogfighting

Animal welfare group urges voters in House District 94 to vote for 'anyone but long-time dogfighting enthusiast Stoney Greene in the March 6th primary.

(Washington, D.C.) - Animal Wellness Action today urged Republican primary voters in North Carolina House District 94 to reject Wilkes County Commissioner Stoney Greene in his quest for that seat because of compelling evidence pointing to his involvement in the criminal enterprise of dogfighting.

In a multi-candidate race, Mr. Greene, who is chairman of the Wilkes County Board of Commissioners, is considered one of the frontrunners for the solid-red state House district. North Carolina is one of several states with primaries on March 5th.

Mr. Greene, according to informants and to key primary source documents, operated kennels featured in known dogfighting websites where he allegedly sold and bred pit-bull type dogs (e.g. Killer Klown Kennels and Stone Hard Kennel); noted his connection to two most infamous dogfighters-Ed Farron (from Wilkes County) and Tom Garner-and described them as "very influential in my knowledge" of pit-bull-type dogs; and was arrested in 2002 for dogfighting in Dover Township in New Jersey along with more than 40 others at a staged animal-fighting event (Asbury Park Press, June 27, 2002).

Transporting dogs across state lines for fighting was a federal crime at the time of his arrest, and in New Jersey, dogfighting was considered a felony offense and outlawed in every other state in the nation.

Some of the details described above have been posted on GoWilkes.com. Animal Wellness Action has reviewed this information and confirmed concerns about Stoney Greene and his past involvement with dogfighting, deeming them 'highly plausible."

"Based on my involvement in working to dismantle animal fighting operations over 30 years, I believe there is sound support for the claim circulating in Wilkes County that Stoney Greene was meaningfully involved for at least some period of years in the barbaric practice of dogfighting," said Wayne Pacelle, president of Animal Wellness Action, a national organization that promotes legal standards against cruelty and specializes in combating animal fighting. "I do not know if he's continued to engage in trafficking of fighting animals or is now entering dogs into staged combat. Involvement in dogfighting, or support for dogfighting-perhaps one of the most reprehensible of forms of animal cruelty-is disqualifying for public office."

The highest-profile enthusiast for dogfighting was former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, who publicly renounced the activity and advocated for stronger policies against the practice. Dogfighting is now a felony in every state, including North Carolina, and it is a federal felony. Animal Wellness has not come across statements from Mr. Greene, during his career in public service, where he's spoken out against the cruelty of dogfighting.

Animal Wellness Action has previously discovered that c*ckfighters maintain an extensive network of c*ckfighting operations in North Carolina. Jeff Hudspeth, of Cedar Creek Game Fowl Farm and a known c*ckfighter from Wilkes County, is a major donor to Stoney Greene's campaign for U.S. House.

Congress is now considering the FIGHT Act, H.R. 2742 and S. 1529, to crack down on dogfighting and c*ckfighting in a more determined way. With more bipartisan support than any other animal welfare bill in this Congress, the FIGHT Act has nearly 500 endorsing agencies and organizations, including 200 law enforcement agencies. It would strengthen existing federal law against dogfighting and c*ckfighting by allowing a private right of action against dogfighters and c*ckfighting, banning on-line gambling on animal fights, allowing for criminal forfeiture of equipment and properties used in the commission of these crimes, and enhancing prohibitions on shipping fighting roosters through the U.S. mail.

ABOUT

Animal Wellness Action is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(4) whose mission is to help animals by promoting laws and regulations at federal, state and local levels that forbid cruelty to all animals. The group also works to enforce existing anti-cruelty and wildlife protection laws. Animal Wellness Action believes helping animals helps us all. X: @AWAction_News
