Somebody asked yesterday about handicap parking... I can't find the thread now! But there's a parking update that might affect them, so I hope they see this.
After receiving approximately four inches of rainfall within two hours on Saturday, parking lots at North Wilkesboro Speedway will require additional drying and repair time to shore up low spots before Sunday's Wright Brand 250 and NASCAR All-Star Race.
Important parking notes for Sunday's NASCAR All-Star Race:
* On-site parking lots will open along with the Fan Zone at 10 a.m. Fans are encouraged to CARPOOL to the speedway, and to respect the parking lot open time of 10:00 a.m. Fans are also asked to be aware that they may be redirected to a different lot or area than the one originally purchased in advance.
* A limited number of fan assistance shuttles will be available on property on Sunday. Depending on parking lot conditions, not all areas will be accessible for fan assistance.
* Fans who didn't buy a parking pass in advance through North Wilkesboro Speedway are encouraged to check with neighbors of North Wilkesboro to find daily parking, on Fishing Creek Road or Speedway Road. Alternately, fans may park at Wilkes Co. Community College (1306 South Collegiate Drive, Wilkesboro, NC, 28697), and take the shuttle.
* NWS will operate remote parking for all LOT 1 advance-parking ticketholders.Fans with LOT 1 parking passes should go directly to Wilkes Co. Community College for a complimentary shuttle to/from the speedway starting at 9 a.m.
* Shuttles to and from Wilkes Community College will be running continuously, starting at 9:00 a.m. We advise that fans do not attempt to take shuttles back and forth from the parking area; this may cause delays to your fan experience.
* Due to college policies, no tailgating or consumption of alcoholic beverages are allowed on Wilkes Co. Community College property. We apologize for the inconvenience.
* Limited wheelchair accessible parking is available in Lot 4A. Fans requiring wheelchair-accessible parking will be allowed in this area with a state-issued ADA placard. Physical address: 3337 Fishing Creek Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659
