Gee, has there ever been a mask mandate before Covid? How did we live through it?
The influenza pandemic of 1918 and 1919 was the most deadly flu outbreak in history, killing up to 50 million people worldwide. In the United States, where it ultimately killed around 675,000 people, local governments rolled out initiatives to try to stop its spread. These varied by region, and included closing schools and places of public amusement, enforcing "no-spitting" ordinances, encouraging people to use handkerchiefs or disposable tissues and requiring people to wear masks in public.
No the girl said mask were require to be wore while we were inside she said nothing about taking them off and I could see people wearing them at their tables.
In the early days I do remember people expecting to wear a mask while eating, you're right. That was kinda stupid and didn't last long, but I think that was before we understood it too well.
Also maybe you haven't been to applebee's in Boone but even after you have been seated you are still within 6 feet of the table in front and behind you as well as the table to your left or right.
No, I think Applebees is disgusting...
Back then, though, restaurants were required to social distance you by blocking every other table.
If you want to wear a mask more power to you go right ahead But I am not wearing one for a number of reason.
Sure... and you are at least indirectly responsible for the deaths of people.
If you were infected and walked by me without a mask, and I was wearing a mask, I would still have a 10-20% chance of infection. If I was sitting at a table with no mask, either, then the chance of infection is nearly 100%.
But if you were wearing a mask, that chance drops to nearly 0%.
We've talked on here for a long time and I think you're a decent guy, but your ignorance on this is still responsible for a lot of deaths.
It must suck to go through life so scared that you expect everyone to wear a mask
It must be wonderful to have never witnessed the suffering and death of people with respiratory disease...
Truth be told, I'm envious of you and the others. I truly wish that I could be that naive, it would be a much easier life.
For me it was applebee's in Boone I ask how I was suppose to eat wearing a mask the poor dumb girl had a deer in the head lights look.
If you were infected, walking down the aisle to get to your seat would infect every single person you walked by. Once you were seated, though, you were distanced from the people and could take off your mask.
It's just common sense.
The wife a I went down the street and ate some where else that wanted our money
In other words, you went somewhere that didn't care whether their patrons died.
If they weren't concerned about basic health precautions, I would assume that they also don't wash their hands after t either.

Antithis, when do want the mask mandate to start again?
Do you wish it never ended?
It should have never ended.
Any other country, the people would have had common sense and not needed a law, though. It should have never been a political issue, just a social rule that if you've been exposed to a cold or anything, or if you don't feel well, then wear a mask and social distance.
But since it DID become political, Republicans are the ones that feel like they can't wear a mask or they'll appear to be a Biden supporter. God forbid THAT happen, so they'd rather people die.
Without an enforced law on it, I don't know any other way to fix it.
Antithis, are you disappointed in GoWilkes Jason not wearing a mask when he spoke at the Wilkes County Office Building.
A little bit, yes. There was no need to wear a mask when he was talking to the Commissioners since they were so far away, but everyone in the crowd should have been wearing one. If just one person in the room had the flu, or even COVID, then they would have all gotten it! Then took it home to their families, taken it to work with them the next day...
Antithesis says if you didn't wear a mask all the time, you are a murderer.
I never said "all the time," I said that you maskholes that refused to ever wear a mask are murderers. And you are. Even if you were never infected, you encouraged others to join your ic gang... and many of them got and spread COVID.
Because of your enforced ignorance, 77.5% of the United States got COVID.
I know that you have to tell yourself that you're not a murderer, you're not responsible for that many people dying. If you recognized it, how could you sleep at night?
But the facts remain... you and your ilk are murderers and monsters.
Back to the post... I didn't say that you had to wear a mask all the time, just when you were going to be within 6' of someone else. And if you did that then you were safe to not wear one at home.
Had everyone done that, COVID would have been gone by April, like Trump said! You are the ones that kept it going for years, put us in quarantine, created the Depression, and created the subsequent hyper inflation.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is presenting a distorted account of President Donald Trump's words on the coronavirus, wrongly suggesting Trump branded the virus a hoax.
He repeatedly said that it's a hoax perpetrated by the Democrats, and that it only came from immigrants. He also said that the "press is in hysteria mode" about it, that it was overblown and would "miraculously" go away on its own so no one needed to do anything.
The mask were good only for one thing to make the people that made them rich . The masks were a joke for small minded people and be told we had to wear them if we went in any stores . That was BS
