Great solution hire more LEO's. How 'bout enforcing the existing gun laws and drafting stricter ones where required. I don't know about you but I'm getting tired of these courts where gun offenders get off with a slap on the wrist. The "I used to do the same kind of thing when I was young." attitude aint good enough!
ps for the Love of God. Buy a fee 392 HEMI's too for our Law Enforcement. 1 Super Interceptor for each of our.100 counties for our NCSHP. A few used Corvettes around. If not new ones. Dint need an am fm radio. Just HP & Handling(for cornering and handling). It gets absolutely ridiculous. When I overhear someone talking about. The scanner chatter that. The guys and ladies are having. To pursue jimmy Joe dopehead.30 frikin miles and. Civilians being mortal danger.piss on it,getter an ACE in their hands. dam right I said it. It makes PERFECT sense too.
Uh,what our county needs. Is MORE law enforcement big time. With our population explosion alone. Higher pay, more benefits including more equipment. Their job is not easy for sure. Train more,Recruit more. Nuff said.
Joe, if you possess a dictionary look up "Infringe" and "Restrict." If your reading comprehension level is not up to the task ask a literate friend to help you.
Take a stroll out in the country and count how many road signs you will see that have been shot at by irresponsible gun owners. Then tell me that strict background checks and firearm safety lessons should not be required before allowing anyone to purchase a gun. Show me where in the 2nd amendment it states shall not be restricted.
Really are you serious or do you lack the skills of reading comprehension.
Second Amendment
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
It says shall not be infringed and restrictions would be a form of infringement. Shooting road signs would be covered under laws such as destruction of property
No, he got a talking to by the supervisor. My neighbor went over and caught him. He went over cause he thought the guy was shooting at his house. My friend did not want to press charges. You know what happens when you do that. You will have more issues. He was a young man, and my friend hoped he would learn a lesson. Did not have any more problems with him, I don't think.
I figured it must have been his first day on duty. Supervisor was shocked at his attitude too. Said he would handle it.
Dog gate, I still call BS, no officer of the law is going to tell someone a neighbor can shoot at anything they want to. Was they neighbor charged for shooting into the house or damaging your friends property?
I can guaranteed it happened and his boss come out to discuss his actions after homeowners called them back again after finding the bullet.. And he informed my friend that he would inform him on his mistakes.
Dog gate, "But how can a deputy tell a homeowner that people around them can shoot at anything they want? That is what my friend was told."
I call BS on this, and challenge you to ask to review the deputies' body camera footage for an exact quote.
I'd wager the deputies at last nights meeting did not come from the on duty patrol squad but rather from a different division such as a school resource officers or deputies that normally work as courthouse / courtroom security.
Wilkes is a large area but do you seriously think the sheriff's department doesn't have the deputies to handle the calls with 2 being at a meeting doing their job ?
I find it interesting how you claim it a waste of resources that they are there to serve and protect. So what you're really trying to say his life isn't that important. The hate is real with him.

The point I am making is the county is a very large area. How many deputies are working at one time. If an emergency happens, what will be the responding time with 2 standing on guard protecting a dog fighter from a couple of furious women? Just a waste of resources in my opinion.
dog gate Posted 9:22 am, 04/17/2024 I was making the point of how can citizens have deputies available when they are at a meeting "protecting" a dog fighter?
Well let's see ...... isn't it their job to serve and protect ?
From what read is there was 2 deputies and the sheriff, so with that comment being said if having 2 deputies at a board meeting is hurting the big state of Wilkes then it sounds like you need to put in an application to become a deputy. I highly doubt 2 deputies doing their job at a meeting actually made a bad impact of other deputies out in the field

But how can a deputy tell a homeowner that people around them can shoot at anything they want? That is what my friend was told. And he ended up with a bullet in his window.
I live out in the country and regularly shoot. I have common sense when shooting, I have a safe place to shoot not near the neighbors , I don't shoot early , late or before 12 on Sundays. Haven't had the law called yet.
