Retirement to expensive for most USA Today

antithesis

I can't find this on USA Today, but I found this article that said something similar...

It's referencing this poll from 2019...

It says, "among those who have not yet retired, a large majority (83%) doubt that Social Security will provide benefits at current levels when they eventually retire. About as many predict that most people will have to work into their 70s in order to afford to retire."

Not quite what the OP is claiming...

No they aren't. This is a pure lie.

There's no denying that Trump's Depression and hyper inflation screwed over a lot of us.

But this really doesn't even make sense. Social Security COLA is proportionate to inflation, so unless they're renting then their percentage of expense to income should be exactly the same.

The older generation are having to ask for help from their families because everything is so expensive now. Those who can are going back to work or working longer into their 70s.
