Even Republican governors can be payed off to lie for the Democrats if the pot of money is big enough.

Wait til you see the amount of government employees helping those local communities.

But you bring up a good point Rolls, dont wait on the government to help you. Figure it out together as a community.

The good ole boys and gals from all across the state are doing ten times what the government are doing.

This thread is a celebration of Americans working together to help those in need.

Why do conservatives hate that idea?

Republican governors refuting Trump's lies, whatever next? Republican notables coming away from the dark side, "the sky is falling."

Seems that the GOP is beginning to realize that Trump's MAGAT base may be more of a liability than an asset. Many right leaning independents will not vote for a party that recognizes Trump as its leader, and that will reflect on congressional seats.
Perhaps the GOP power brokers have finally learned a lesson from history. In the 1930's Germany's power brokers thought by putting Hitler in power they could achieve their own goals by controlling him. Well, that didn't work out too well for the German people but guess what: To this day industries such as IG Farben (manufacturers of Zyklon B), von Thyssen, Siemens and Krupp are still going strong.
Beware of the yellow trickle down!

Youre right, foxnose. Them mean rich people are paying the migrants to work.

Wasnt it you that used to say they were "stealing all our jobs?"

Who's paying them?

Private companies and individuals are doing the work.

Well... them, and 6,700 National Guardsmen...

FEMA set up in Asheville and their phones didn't work.

One site had set up showers but not for the victims, it is for volunteers and themselves.

Biden showed up and stopped all air travel for four hours. No rescues and no food and water during that time.

Ironically, had he not shown up then you would be complaining about that, too...

If you think the federal government is doing such a good job, go volunteer.

I'm not sure what you think they should be doing that they're not... they approved $20 million in emergency funding and will likely provide billions more. They sent 6,700 guardsmen to help, and can send more if the State requests it. They've secured a "Level I Emergency Management Team" that specializes in disaster relief, and the federal government has agreed to cover 100% of the expenses.

Please be specific... what more do you think they should be doing?

Feds say there's no money left to respond to hurricanes - after FEMA spent $1.4B on migrants

From memory, I think that FEMA had a budget of $29.5 billion for 2024.

So you're complaining that they've spent $1.4 billion since 2022... and that their budget is low at the end of 2024.

Do you see how ridiculous that complaint is?

And as your article pointed out... the Republican-led Congress approved money for the migrant crisis, and they can't divert those funds to hurricane relief without an Act of Congress.

Biden immediately approved $20 million for hurricane relief, but a lot more will be coming over time. Right now, you're just falling for propaganda.

Bidenomic Accountant, where do you think the Billions spent to house, feed, transport, educate, and medicate 11 million illegals is coming from. Oh I know, those mean rich people. There it grows on trees

Wonder what locals are helping to run those shelters and drop off points.

Ever think that local governments and their entities might be helping?

To hurricane relief...you know....where congress allocated it to.

Youre aware this isnt the only hurricane to this year, right?

That is exactly what was said. Maybe not on the DNC website or MSNBC Fake News but it has been said. Just ask your stupid self, if there is not money, where did the money go?

Go to the victims and ask about the federal government response. Come on a week late and got in the way. Private companies and individuals are doing the work. FEMA set up in Asheville and their phones didn't work. One site had set up showers but not for the victims, it is for volunteers and themselves. Biden showed up and stopped all air travel for four hours. No rescues and no food and water during that time. If you think the federal government is doing such a good job, go volunteer.

Remember Hurricane Matthew... Trump offered 1% of Governor Cooper's request for assistance.

This is one of the things that has gone so wrong in America. Trump refused to send help to NC because we had a Democrat governor, and he thought that it would reflect negatively on that Democrat. But when faced with the same problem, Biden wasted no time in sending help to the Republican-held states.
