Question for Christian Republicans

Anti,, you sure are a longwinded preacher. However, before you start quoting the Bible, you need to read it. If I thought you could understand it I would take the time to respond but you have proven you are not interested in the truth.

But there is one foolish comment I cannot pass up. Please post the scripture that says "the Bible still repeatedly says that you should love your neighbor, and treat the immigrant the same as a citizen..
I do not recall reading that one

How about that, some of the people who have and continue to want to remove God and religion from every aspect of anything government, suddenly think cherry picking scripture is the way the USA should be governing its people.

Which policies, SPECIFICALLY, do you claim are anti-Christian.

I've already shown several, and in the first post I explicitly cited "policies that are anti-immigration, oppose equal rights, oppose helping the poor, oppose universal healthcare, and support giving money to the rich."

Are you saying that you don't know which GOP policies follow these principles? Or is it that you don't know which of Jesus' teachings oppose them?

If I had time I'd post where all the great democrat leaders approved of the GOP policies first. LOL

I completely agree! As many know, I used to be a Republican until the Bush Jr era, when I saw that the Republicans were suddenly becoming extremely liberal. That's when I changed my party to Independent.

I consider myself a Conservative... I believe in the teachings of Christ and in smaller government. I believe that the only powers that belong to the government are those explicitly given by the Constitution. In modern times, 9 times out of 10 it's the Democrats that uphold those Conservative and Christian policies.

We are not anti-immigration. Just anti illegal immigration. Why aren't you against people breaking the law?

Trump also plans to stop legal immigration...

Allowing that you didn't know that, the Bible still repeatedly says that you should love your neighbor, and treat the immigrant the same as a citizen. This is especially true for those that come asking for help.

Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of my brethren you did it to me."

We don't oppose equal rights. What equal rights are you referring to?

The GOP policy has always attempted to limit rights to minorities, women, gay people, and transgender people.

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

Republicans contribute more personal money to the poor than Democrats. Why don't you Democrats want to give more of your own money instead of our money (taxes)?

That's not true. The study you're referring to found that Republicans do donate more to charity, but only because the rich tend to be Republican and 5% of $1 million is more than 5% of $50,000. It also found that the charities they donate to are more self serving, like private schools... so not helping the poor.

Further...

Those in favor of lower taxes have argued that individuals are more capable than the government of allocating money to important causes, including people in need of assistance. But the study found that was not true. Donations do not match government assistance, and without tax money, social services are not funded as robustly.

Universal health care means more government controls. We prefer to be responsible for our own health. Why are you Democrats so big on giving up rights to the government?

Ironically, that's the same argument I make in regards to abortion! The Republicans demand that the government have the power to make medical decisions for women because, in their minds, women can't be responsible for their own health.

I think that Jesus would argue that it's the responsibility of the government to help the citizens, and that would include their health. Because, as I quoted before, "as you did it to one of the least of my brethren you did it to me."

Republicans support tax cuts for all.

Maybe you do, but the party doesn't. The party has always supported tax cuts for the rich with a higher tax burden on the middle class.

There's lyin' anti lyin' again! Lies of omission are still lies! Which policies, SPECIFICALLY, do you claim are anti-Christian. It is always hilarious to watch non-christians attempt to beat people over the head with the Holy Bible! And when you give examples of the policies don't forget the examples from the Holy Bible that contradict those policies. I'll wait.

Honest question? NOPE.

We are not anti-immigration. Just anti illegal immigration. Why aren't you against people breaking the law?

We don't oppose equal rights. What equal rights are you referring to?

Republicans contribute more personal money to the poor than Democrats. Why don't you Democrats want to give more of your own money instead of our money (taxes)?

Universal health care means more government controls. We prefer to be responsible for our own health. Why are you Democrats so big on giving up rights to the government?

Republicans support tax cuts for all.

So we don't support any policies that are in direct opposition to the teaching of Christ.

This is an honest question, not trying to be assertive or start a fight. I would really like to know the answer.

How do you justify the Republican policies that are anti-immigration, oppose equal rights, oppose helping the poor, oppose universal healthcare, and support giving money to the rich... when those policies are in direct opposition to the teachings of Christ?
