I hope Stein is a mature adult who looks at the greater good- if something is good for everyone, that's the bottom line.

Conrad,
"The current governor didn't have the power of veto, honey."

Wrong, Cooper had the power of veto, which he used several times; but the Republican controlled legislature had a Super Majority which meant if they wanted they could override Cooper's veto.

Allow me to explain why Stein is going to be in a bigger predicament than Cooper, now that the Republicans lost their Super Majority.
Cooper could veto any and everything the legislature put before him knowing that if he vetoed it they could just override his veto and he was being the dutiful Democrat but those mean ole Republicans had a the Super Majority and could do what they want.

Stein however, as long as everyone votes along party lines can block everything the legislature sends to his desk and it's canceled, but what if the Republicans put forth something the Democrats really want, does Stein veto it and show the Republicans whose BOSS or does he sign it into law which would mean he's essentially supporting the Republican controlled legislature?

Actually, a governor with the power of veto is in good shape to be a bulwark. You must not have paid attention the state election.

Serious, though: You would LOVE Alabama. The whole cousin thing you got going in the romance department? Not a big deal in Alabama.

Nah. I live in North Carolina, with a blue governor with the power of veto. In fact, a conservative on here actually convinced me North Carolina is turning blue.

You move. I'll even help. You'd be happier in Alabama.
