I don't know why some of you are getting hung up on the day to day numbers. The chart that I posted shows a very obvious increase in temperature from 1980 until now.
I appreciate sparkle's humor, but the reality is that this increase in global temperature is the cause for the increase in severe weather. Hurricanes, cyclones, tornadoes, mud slides... all of these disasters we keep hearing about, even seeing for ourselves! Are a result of climate change.

Whenever I hear or see a useless id10t flaunt any weather statistic as the yugest on record I am forced to recover from maniacal laughter.
Reliable weather records have only been kept for about 150+ years AND any comparison of a weather event to that metric is absolutely foolish.

It's just weather anti. Several years ago I was walking a Christmas tree farm in Ashe just a day or so before Thanksgiving and it was so warm I was watching for snakes.

I miss the glaciers.
But, they weren't very useful, basically cold paperweights.
I am excited about farming the tundra. Canada and Siberia ought to do well in grain production, maybe cattle raising.
Nothing is better than a porterhouse.
