Wow anti. I read through two of your links and neither mentioned Trump or tariffs. I'm not a subscriber to the other, which looked like an opinion piece. They both mentioned Chinese sales decline as the main culprit of layoffs. Honda is dealing with the same scenario. One thing to consider is that Nissan makes cars in America. They would not have the tariff.

It is a little early for that speech Anti. They are still suffering losses of the Biden/Harris economy.
I didn't make the press release, Nissan did... And they're the ones citing Trump as a reason, not Biden.
In fact, the Biden economy was borderline miraculous after the Trump Depression. But I wouldn't expect you to understand that.
If Nissan went away completely who would miss them? For starters... the 17,782 US-based employees...

What do you mean about closet Independents, Fox?
Part of the reason I aman independent is because I live here and when I vote in the primaries, I always try to weed out the weaker candidates.

It is a little early for that speech Anti. They are still suffering losses of the Biden/Harris economy. Look for more as we see companies regroup in hopes of prospering under the new administration. I guess Ford will do the same with their EV production. HAHA You Democrats (closet Independents) lost the election but cannot come to grips as to why. Strange Everybody else knows

Nissan has always been Japan's General Motors. Back in the 80's when GM had their Olds diesel debacle, Nissan was right with them with a diesel pickup truck that was known to scatter engine parts along the highway. And do some research on Nissan's CVT trannys in the modern day Rogue.

So Nissan screwed up on market forecasting and they are blaming tariffs that haven't even begun?

In preparation for new tariffs, and because they did not create "a credible line-up of hybrid cars."
Nissan misread demand for hybrids in the United States, CEO Makoto Uchida told a press conference. "We didn't foresee HEVs ramping up this rapidly," he said, referring to hybrid EVs. "We did start to understand this trend towards the end of last fiscal year," he said, adding that making some changes to core models didn't go as smoothly as planned.
