Chris Shew is a good hardworking man. The eyes should look long and hard. At North Wilkesboro and it is time people see it.

Chris Shew in my opinion is a very nice guy who cares about the community, however their are people who are employed with the local Sheriff's office that should not be. I have a very close friend who worked there and too many of the people take advantage of time by shopping on tax payers time along with other factors that I will not mention on this site. I will also make.this statement based on information from past employees, if you are a good working employee and doing your job you WILL be stabbed in the back by the lazy ones.

Maybe the author of this bogus thread coulda circle back AND rejoin the polite discussion.

Acumen,
Still singing that same tired song.

It is apparent that our cops are either very lazy or they are involved in the illegal drug trade. The only king pin arrested in Wilkes in 30 yeas was given almost no jail time and his record was deleted. By the way he wasn't even arrested by local police.

Acumen,
I'm neither, but I am smart enough to recognize "Change's" ulterior motives behind his posts.

Pike, what are you, a drug dealer or a cop? You spin like you are protecting both.

Albert Pike

Posted 2:30 pm, 09/15/2024

"I to want to see us targeting the higher level distributors of the drugs plaguing our county."

I always wonder when people make statements like this, I mean really if you are not a drug user, drug dealer or in law enforcement...how in the hello kitty does an average law abiding citizen know what level drug dealer is being targeted.

Hey CftB, in this part of America YOU are still free to spew your feelings, regardless of your stupidity.

What I was referring to is the phrase YOU hear right after the cuffs are applied: "YOU have the right to remain silent". Do YOU feel YOU can ?

YOU have filled your bogus thread with vague AND most probably false accusations just to stir zh(t up.

In North Carolina we elect our sheriffs. This is in our state Constitution for many reasons, one of which is to keep those out of power from beating off on elected representatives for appointing that position.

Again, YOU are implored to coerce the WDEC/Indivisibles to run a candidate more to your persuasion AND liking, two years from now.

Let me go ahead and giver your generic playbook answer.

You are an Independent.

LOL

Smell is strong that we have a hidden agenda here. Let me tell you what I think. I think you are a Democrat

Right or Wrong?

Sheriffs are elected. They should run their office any way they like until the next election.

Albert Pike

Change,
"I don't care about the politics of this office matter of fact it should never have been a political office, but rather considered a law enforcement position"

You will have to take that up with the folks that wrote NC's Constitution back in the 1700's...but you are in luck, Sheriff Shew has over 40 years experience in law enforcement.

While some of this may sound mostly political to the ones replying, my whole goal behind the post was to get peoples thoughts on leadership and how the department was being ran. I've noticed a few things I'd like to see changed in as far as transparency as I've mentioned. I don't care about the politics of this office matter of fact it should never have been a political office, but rather considered a law enforcement position

Albert Pike

Change,
You think posting about YOUR perceived need to vote out a current elected official and the leadership in that office two years before the election makes your post non-political is hilarious.
I know for a fact Sheriff Shew will be more than willing to debate anyone who chooses to file for the office, because he has in the past.

So Fakey you're telling me I'm not entitled to my freedom of speech? Im very aware of when the next election cycle is for Sheriff as well which obviously makes my post non political and a smear as your falsely accusing me of. As for the recently created username I've never had an account on here so if you know of any other way to post on this forum please inform me. Mr. Pike I can actually read the county budget from their website so no need in going to request that and it only tells me what is budgeted for said agency. Many agencies keep their public aware of what's going on in their departments and are more involved in the community in that regard. These agencies are neighboring agencies but still take time to keep their public informed

Change,
"Just curious if any others feel the need for new leadership in our Sheriff's Office"

It appears your motion died for lack of a second.

"The public is left out in the dark in much of what goes on such as average response times from call to dispatch as well as budget information and how our tax money is being spent."

Have you went by the Sheriff's Office and asked for this information, if not then you are to blame. I know for a fact you can go by the Wilkes County Office building (where you pay your taxes) and request and receive copies of the total county budget, budget for each and every county department (Sheriff, Animal Control, Parks & Recreation etc, and you can get a list of current county employee salaries.

Hey CftB, what compelled YOU to register a new screen name AND author this foolish, disingenuous AND stupidly bogus thread?

Obviously YOU cannot comprehend the fact that in Wilkes we elect our sheriff during the mid-term cycle which next woulda be in 2026.

Your OP AND subsequent posts are filled with politically correct buzz words AND phrases set to smear AND bash our current sheriff AND his staff.

IF YOU are truly upset with the job performance of Sheriff Shew maybe YOU coulda coerce the WDEC/Indivisibles to field a candidate more to your liking for the next election.

Until then, YOU are advised to STFU AND go pound sand.
