Isn't he a Democrat?
@woodie w p, I changed to "Unaffiliated" sometime around 2007. I consider myself a social liberal and fiscal conservative that firmly believes in the less government the better, and neither party really represents my ideals.
I've had people ask me to run again, but if I do then I'd do so under the Republican ticket and campaign as a moderate with no allegiance to anyone.
It's been so long that I have forgotten who the last Democrat that was a CC.
@Albert Pike is right, Luther Parks was the last Democrat to be a Wilkes County Commissioner. He lost the reelection in 2010 to David Gambill.

Shirley Randleman
Shirley Randleman would be a weird choice, since she's already coming in November. That would mean no (R) incumbent in November... not that the Democrat has a snowball's chance, anyway, but it's still an unnecessary risk.
I thought David Gambill would have been a better choice.
Then the Wilkes GOP will put either Greg Minton or Jeff Elmore up in November to run for the seat vacated by Greene's resignation
Jeff Elmore was an advocate of Stoney's, that would be.... a statement.

We need some who will challenge everything and raise awareness to what's actually happening. And then 100% of those seated need to be voted out when they are up for re-election
Absolutely nothing would have been done if not for the actions of private citizens.

As usual you are wrong. If you go back in past posts, I am a lifelong Republican. I have only voted for a democrat in a very few number of times such as Arnold Lakey. In the county government, there is no real difference between a Democrat and a Republican. Do you actually think that one Democrat on the county commissioners could do the damage that 3 incompetent republicans did?
This county will never get over the damage. How long with your grandchildren be paying off these debts?

I don't have a problem at all with voting for a Democrat. A Democrat is not any worse than these 3 we were stuck with that will cause problems for citizens for the next 30 or 40 years.
Arnold Lakey was also a commissioner. He is a great Wilkes County citizen!!

I am hoping Elmore will run again. He has so much experience. But would be happy with Minton too. In fact, I had rather have those two and vote out Johnson since he is the only one up for re election that supported that incompetent Stoney. An educator should have had more sense than that. Looks like he could have understood the math.....$16 a sq ft instead of $495 a sq ft.
What s would have chosen $495 per sq ft? Sexton, Johnson and Greene. What a joke.

Woodie, The last Democrat to be elected to the Wilkes Board of Commissioners was Joe Woodie and before him was Luther Parks, there may have been 1 or 2 more but Woodie and Parks are the only ones I remember.

Isn't he a Democrat? They would never let a Democrat be appointed to the board. General election would be hard. It's been so long that I have forgotten who the last Democrat that was a CC.

Our sources said the Go feller ort to run since he's brave enough to testify with the dog fighting and noodie evidence against Stoney at the last commie meetng also. Ol boy made a helluva speech in the video showed he's hawter in real life then on the social media also, fellers will be wanting to come to the meeting just for the view and such.

It will be rigged by the good old boys/girls in charge of the Republican's in Wilkes. You must be willing to go along with their agenda or you are not on their good boy list.
