@Trillian42 and @Anonymoose, I'm going to have to put some thought into what you both said. I don't have that issue on my Android, but iPhone is it's own set of problems

Give me some time to work on it, and I'll see what I can do to make it better.

Regarding the speed, it's my understanding that the ads load after everything else! So it should impact the load time at all. Let me send that to the ad network and see if they have any input.

@Anonymoose, man, you would really be surprised at a lot of it.

Guns, paintball, knives, CCW classes? Policy violations.

Discussions on Ukraine, Palestine, or anything else that Google deems to be fake news? Policy violations.

Anything even close to profanity, like a certain user's preferred "bee itch"? Policy violation.

I once had a personal ad that had a picture of a local girl in a sleeveless shirt; a girl that I know, so it definitely wasn't fake. Policy violation. I can only guess that they thought shoulders were too much skin.

I recently had a classified ad flag for "sexual content" that was of a dang chicken! It didn't even say the forbidden c*ck word, it was just somebody selling some chickens!

Policy violations result in permanently lower bids, though, so what was once $5 is now more like $0.80. It had gotten down to $0.30 in 2019 so it's up considerably from that, but still nowhere near the $5 it used to be

Add that to the fact that ads on mobile devices pay less than half of the same ad on a desktop, and the few people that intentionally block ads just to hurt us, and it leaves us in a tough position.

But until local advertisers step up again, I don't have much of a choice but to bend the knee to the Great and Powerful Gods of Google

Not much about Google makes sense. They sensor words on here that are on TV every day.

Very annoying on my I phone , makes it really slow when I have bad service. Which is most of the time . Better than the full page add , I almost left over it. I know no one would care. I know you need to make money . SHOCKING that google wouldn't want open discussion about everything and gun adds. Just SHOCKING

It's WAY annoying on my iPhone. I go to tap somewhere and bam, I'm jumping off site. I don't like it.

I understand that you've gotta pay the bills though.

I've made a minor update that I hope you guys prefer!

Many of you know that, starting in 2017, ad revenue for websites plummeted! Within a year, they were less than 25% of what they had been before Then COVID hit, and ad value dropped to nearly 0. Local ads pretty much all went away, too, and many of our old advertisers went out of business (or died) during COVID! Getting new ones has been challenging.

The Google ad value has been improving slowly but surely, but with mobile ads having little value, some (evil) people blocking ads, and Google punishing us for having guns and discussions on topics they don't like (like national politics and the Ukraine War), the value is still less than half of what it was before. Which has forced me to get a little "creative", trying to find that happy balance where they pay the most but aren't too invasive for you.

For about a year, I've had what's called a "vignette" ad on the site; a large full-page banner that shows up every 10th pageview. The value on that one was better than the others, but the overall payout was still low since it only showed every 10th page.

So today I removed that vignette ad altogether, and replaced it with a "sticky" banner at the top of the page. Now you should see one sticky at the bottom, and a second one at the top.

On my computer this has been a lot less invasive, and it pays considerably better! So I'm hoping that you guys don't find it to be too annoying.

I'm always open to any and all feedback, and I really appreciate those of you that are helping!
