First, I do not believe the person that wrote this post. Residents of Miller Creek are among the most patriotic, conservative, courteous, friendly, veteran honoring, military minded, servers of America in Wilkes. Millers Creek has the safest neighborhoods, best schools, highest land prices, nicest people you will find. If , and I say IF someone made such an offensive comment to you I would say they have moved from somewhere else, or was just jerking your chain to see your reaction. We vote Republican, Fly the American and lock heals with our hands on our heart while the National Anthem is being played. Don't come on here and spew that junk.

First question I'm asked when out shopping is "are you a veteran" Some times at Lowes Hardward they ask if you can take the veteran discount. Only place in town I know of. The people will decide who wins. Most see the lies, which this one sounds very fishy. People in other cultures do eat cats, dogs, snakes, etc, this is not so far fetched. Years ago I watch a 60 minutes segment where they eat live birds, they covered their heads with big white napkins to keep blood from spraying everywhere. THIS WAS IN THE USA. I'm going to you tube to see if i can find it.

Well the first question should be, how would this person know you're a veteran? Did you tell her at the moment, or does she know from outside this business?
So Doug, why are you offended by this?
You may have fought on foreign soil and may have given 4-30 years in military service, so this person could have the freedom to serve you or the freedom to not serve you....what's the beef with this?

I don't think that's valid, Springy. I am probably a lot more liberal than you, I definitely vote Democrat, and I revere our veterans. Lots of people in my family have served and do serve.
