Hey 5hitZ, YOUZ might want to have somebody explain this SCOTUS ruling for YOUZ.

A person may be born a U.S. citizen by either jus soli, i.e., through place of birth, or jus sanguinis, i.e. through descent from his/her parents.

Gosh, MAGAts. Don't give up on '24 yet. I know it looks bleak, but maybe something will break your way late.

sparkie, you've been a miserable failure at everything you've chosen to address on this site so far, why don't you give it up before you get any further behind??????

You should not use a question mark when a period will do.

So, we interpret the constitution according to whatever suits our purposes at any given time?

Consul,
Until the Supreme Court rules differently Cruz is eligible...even Hillary and Obama said McCain was eligible even though he was born abroad.

Quoting interpretations don't make it so! Article II, section I is quite specific and there has been no amendment to that section as of yet.

Consul,
Q: Is Sen. Ted Cruz, who was born in Canada, eligible to be the U.S. president?
A: Most likely. The legal consensus is that Cruz qualifies because he was born to a U.S. citizen living abroad, making him a U.S. citizen at birth.

Bertie, please show me where I should look for this in the constitution. Is he in fact a reverse anchor baby?

Albert Pike

Consul,
You are a liar,
Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz was born on December 22, 1970, at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Eleanor Elizabeth (née Darragh) Wilson and Rafael Cruz. Cruz's mother was born in Wilmington, Delaware. She is of three-quarters Irish and one-quarter Italian descent, and earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Rice University in the 1950s.

The fact that Cruz's mother was born in the US means he was a US citizen at birth, it's in the Constitution.

I was under the impression that you MAGATS were against illegals, or d'ye make an exception for Ted (I'm getting my sorry arse off to Mexico before covid gets me) Cruz? Ted Cruz is not a natural born American citizen; he was born in Canada to Cuban parents.
