Let's talk about coffee for a minute...

I use a coffee scoop Fresh Market gives away if you buy their bulk coffees and I don't know how much the scoop holds, maybe a healthy tablespoon, but If I'm brewing a strong coffee such as Community Coffee I use 1-1/2 scoops per pot.
If it's the everyday basic coffees such as Folgers or Chock Full O' Nuts I use two rounded scoops.

I wasn't sure you could still get instant coffee. I can't remember seeing it in the grocery store, but I guess it's because I never loo.

Ibuse a grind n' brew...the machine grinds the beans in the am and the aroma fills the house. I can mix my beans for desired strength and flavor. I usually mix a dark roast with a medium...whatever's on sale

Not a bad thought... I always buy the office a little gift at Christmas and everybody seems to appreciate the coffee maker more than any of the other gifts I've bought! So maybe I'll buy us a grinder this Christmas

You might consider getting a grinder, then you can buy beans instead of pre-ground. The flavor is a lot stronger, and I use about half of the quantity per pot that I used to need!

I used to drink Nescafe, goddess But I bought the office a nice coffee maker a few years ago for Christmas, and I think that everyone is getting spoiled with having a fresh brewed pot all the time!

How much coffee grounds do you use to make a pot?

My pot is 60 ounces, and I use 4 heaping tablespoons of dark roast. Which everyone says tastes good. But I recently bought a different brand that's medium roast, and it says to use 1 heaping tablespoon for every 6 ounces!! That would be 10 tablespoons for a pot

Am I making it too weak, or is the company just encouraging people to use more than twice as much unnecessarily?
