The number one reason that people gives for abortions, with the exception of medical necessity, is financial difficulty. A $6000 tax credit (compared to the current $2000 tax credit) could help alleviate that.

The plan would also increase the credit to $3,600 for any child under 6, and $3,000 for any child over 6. The current policy has an income threshold of $400,000 household, but Kamala hasn't explicitly said whether she would keep that threshold.

JD Vance approves of the plan, but has argued against an income threshold. He prefers to give it to everyone regardless of income.
