Funny story for y'all

I'm at Ingles in Elkin on Saturday, walking down the main aisle towards the dog treat aisle. Over the loudspeaker they're playing the Kenny / Dolly classic, Islands in the Stream.

There's this guy behind me, and I hear him singing along with it. Not really under his breath, but not too loud either.

I turn up aisle 9, he turns up aisle 8. So we're walking next to one another, with just the shelves in between us.

Him being alone on his aisle, he really gets into the song, singing a LOT louder without realizing that I'm literally like 10' away.

And well, if you know me then you know I'm not one to be overshadowed! So doggone it, let's show some respect and make this a live duet!

At full volume, I start singing right along with him:

Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in between
How can we be wrong?
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, uh huhhh
From one lover to another, uh huhhh

Brotha man doesn't miss a beat, so neither do I! We both go full blast until the end of the song

Then we both walk out and meet up in the main aisle again. He doesn't say a word, neither do I, so we just had our moment and went on about our evening.

Like islands in the stream.
