Yes. I am sure. They changed the minimum mandatory sentence from one year to six months because felonies with a one year minimum don't allow for those cases to be thrown out by prosecutors. So now it's classified differently to allow for people to come forward with evidence and not be prosecuted with a felony sex crime and go to jail for a year, but people actually possessing and distributing those kinds of images can and will still be prosecuted and can receive sentences up to 10 years for it.

The law was previously so strict that if someone sent you unsolicited images you had no way of safely reporting it to the authorities without being charged and receiving a minimum mandatory sentence yourself. So they changed it. It's still illegal.
