hep and anti used the chastity belts with lock and key. the rich could afford them the rest, you know the rest of the story. the only problem is they lost the key and they wore the things up into 40's explaining a lot.

it was common to sex with relatives in the day. the roads were dirt trails for feet walking. doors didnt have locks so hornies could enter easily. lot of inbreeding explaing the average 65 iq. animals were abused at random by stiff hornies. grandy could sleep in certain rooms to get hers. the horny thinking it be less ripe. rich no differ in wilkes all join in. it was a regular hoe down. moonshine, guitar playing while you hoe down. party till sunrise, then sleep. garden stuff was shared along with wemens and mens. animals would hide.

You might not like it, Tilly, but rape and assault were extremely common. There was simply nowhere for them to go for help... rape was shameful for the woman or girl, so if they did come forward then they would be the ones shamed instead of the rapist.
Young girls were always sexually harassed by men, and were expected to like it. If they complained then, again, they were the ones ostracized and called names.
No one thought it was wrong, it was just what men did! No one even tried to talk about it until the 1970s...

I knew several young girls who were molested during that time period. Almost all of those molestations happened at church......by adult men.

back in the day roads were few and for feet travel which lead to more relatives sex in. the doors were left unlocked for this purpose. back in the day everything was shared garden stuff, wifees, husbands, and animals if you dare. no laws to protect, just moonshine to ease the pain which everyone thought normal. anti im guessing was from this era. living in finley didnt help the process much, the rich sex with each others thinking the kids would be smarter- hence explains ant's 80 iq compared to the resty 50 iq.

Ok this poll is for Anti,
Anyone who grew up in the 50s and 60s let Anti know if you were molested or not.
I was a small child in the sixties and I assure you Anti I was never molested.

"It's rare to meet someone that grew up during that era that wasn't molested."
One of Anti's more head shake producing comments.

You didn't have to lock your doors
That's more of a sign of ignorance in the time.
In 1969, there were 3,680 crimes per 100,000 people. The murder rate was 7.3.
In 2019, there were 2,489.3 crimes per 100,000 people. The murder rate was 5.0.
That information stops at 2019, but you can see that the violent crime rate went up in 2020, then continued to decrease through 2022.
You knew your neighbors
I know my neighbors... if you don't then that's a reflection on you, not the era.
The law enforcement was respected
True. But again, that was more of a sign of ignorance. The Blue Shield kept people from ever knowing about criminal cops.
The most dangerous place for a baby was not in the mothers womb
We'll never know, because abortion wasn't legal yet. But abortion still happened, of course, and with no legal restrictions you can be sure that they happened much later in the pregnancy, and the fetus suffered a much more terrible death.
Didn't know any homeless people
True. We had almost eradicated the homeless problem, until Reagan cut funding to mental health and substance abuse, literally pushing all of them right back out on the street.
The races were not bitterly divided
Ar... are you serious?
Children had an innocence past 5 yr old
That's just nonsense. It's rare to meet someone that grew up during that era that wasn't molested.
You could catch a ride to town and were not afraid to pick someone up and give them a ride
Sure... which is a reflection of the ignorance. See the crime rate above...

I was 13 in 1967 and to young to drive and take a date to the drive-in. I was old enough to walk several blocks to a Saturday afternoon sci-fi/horor double feature at the theater with my best friend. It cost 35 cents (extra for snacks).
Yes. It was cheapper and probabily safer. The movies were not always good but the popcorn and candy were.
Not all my friends could see these movies because thier parrents did not approve of those types of movies
Now I can watch most of those movies on the internet.

In 1967 about this time on a Saturday night I would be pulling into the Starlite Drive-In with a good looking honey snuggled up to me. Does it get any better than that?

We don't get measles, mumps, chicken pox or polio anymore (unless your parrents are anti-vaxers)
Cars are safer. Most of us even wear seat belts.
Less people smoke cigarettes and you can eat in a resturant and even work in an office without the person next to you smoking.
