I'm not a big fan of Gaetz and think the facts of the investigation should be looked at, but I don't consider a 17 year old to be a kid. In the vast majority of states the legal age of consent is either 16 or 17. It's 16 in NC. Is only 18 in a handful.

What you may not know is he can do his job for two years without senate approval. That will be long enough for Trump. At least he is not Jeff Sessions.

I think he made this nomination mostly just to watch the democrats hyperventilate, he probably doesn't care very much if he is confirmed or not. Gaetz caused a lot of headaches in the House and now he has already resigned his seat so either way it's probably a win for Trump.
