I just got a notice for my dads home owner insurance it said the approve amount for NC was $883 but they were charging $1100. my question is how can they charged more than what is approved by the state.

Smelly, I had my agent call the company and they said wear and tear is covered. My heat pump is 19 yrs old so we'll see.

Coop, most likely it won't cover normal wear and tear on the unit itself. But, for $ 35 extra per year, that's not bad.

My insurance agent was able to mitigate my premium increase to only about 10% without much affecting on my coverage. She also turned me on to breakdown appliance coverage for only $35 extra a year which also covers the HVAC, well pump, etc. You really need a good agent to help weather this Joe Biden / Kamala Harris insurance crisis.

Must be intellectually intimidating to adjust your budget to adapt to issues at hand.

I guess it's just easier to hissy fit about it.
