DumbBell, your last post put my mind to rest. Your record for predictions on this site indicates that we should be fully electrified in the very near future. Please put your wishful thinking to work in some positive way like predicting that "we'll be choking on air pollution in 50 years." This way we'll know we should be OK for the next half century.

Poor anti and shoulda just can't come to terms with the fact that the people are rejecting true electric vehicles. Sure hybrids are selling but they are more gas than electric by far.

The Biden/Harris EV boondoggle will go down in history as one of the greatest government follies of all time.

And yet they still make 'em, they still sell 'em and they still buy 'em.

Hey DumbBell how about a wind powered vehicle? I don't mean an EV powered by wind generated electricity, but a bloody great canvas sail. would that take you far enough back into the past, oars could be an option.

After Losing **** In EV Market, Ford Is Ditching Plans For An Electric SUV

Ford said Wednesday that it is canceling its plans to build a three-row electric SUV as the wider U.S. electric vehicle (EV) market continues to struggle.

The company announced that it expects to take up to $1.9 billion in write-downs and other special charges related to its decision after losing billions of dollars on its EV product line in 2023.

I wouldn't want a fully electric, either. I think they would mostly appeal to people in cities that only drive short distances per day.

What's your point, though?

It's a Yahoo headline, not really mine. I should have posted the link but got distracted. Like we've discussed before, hybrids are not true EVs. Thomas is right, the vast majority of Americans aren't interested at all in EVs.

Your post is misleading, DB...

Ford Motor is delaying production of a next-generation all-electric pickup truck at a new plant in Tennessee and canceling plans for a three-row electric SUV, the company said Wednesday.

Instead, Ford said it will prioritize the development of hybrid models, as well as electric commercial vehicles such as a new electric commercial van in 2026, followed by two EV pickup trucks in 2027.

The pickups are expected to be a full-size truck, which will be produced in 2027 at the Tennessee plant that's currently under construction, and a new midsize truck being developed by a specialized "skunkworks" team in California.

"As we've learned in the marketplace, and we've seen where people have gravitated, we're going to focus in where we have competitive advantage, and that's on commercial land trucks and SUVs," Ford CFO John Lawler said Wednesday.

Several studies have proven that over 60% of EV buyers won't buy another one.

Turns out that the market is only consist of those concerned with virtue signaling. No one else wants them.
