I believe you are the **** ***** and her baby daddy that run this scam a lot. You came in Cagney's wanting a free meal when the soup kitchen was right there and they give you free food. You are not old and could easily get a job

Reply to all the rude and hateful comments...one is our home takes one of our checks! And don't say sell and find a more cheaper place cause there is no such places... # 2 this is NOT a scam or whatever you want to call it! ..#3 how dare some of you telling us what we do and how we live! God knows what we are going through! Oh I could go on and on but seems like when a person openly asks for help you are so quick to send your "opinions" which just try to down grade us while you are trying to build up yourself. Yes I have been on here asking for help, suggestions, advice, etc, before but this time you have really hurt us. How dare you push someone when they are already down!

You can go to Samaritans on Mon,Wednesday, and Friday. Hunters boxes are through out the county. Ronda fire dept does a give away once a month. Methodist church on 268 east near Elkin does a food give away once a month, and I think Antioch church does a once a month. Buy storage bags separate food into smaller portions. Shop at ALDIs. Buy can veggies at Walmart. Tyson store has fresh chicken and precooked items much cheaper then grocery store. Stock your cabinets and freezer this month,then you only have to add to each month. Go apply for food stamps.

Assuming they didn't retire early, they should be getting about $1,066 a month. If they retired at 62, though, they take a 25% penalty.
$2100 a month might seem like a lot, but if they rent and had no savings then I can see money running out. Especially if they retired early.

You do this every month or two, summer. What is going on with you. It's not unreasonable to ask these questions. You are using the internet which is expensive. Not judging just trying to understand whats going on. If you are this hard there should be places that help. Meals on wheels for one. Is it health reasons, something eating your money up, kids eating your money up. Why Go Wilkes is the next question, what are you aiming for?

I have a question. Can a person get food help from more than one food bank? The one I go to is one time a month and being a senior on a limited income getting groceries is so very hard for my husband and I . I never in my lifetime ever thought I would be in this shape. I worked all my life and now in my 70's it is so very hard to go to an empty refrigerator or cabinets. God Bless/
