So you're saying these "new agents" aren't even a thing yet?

Weird.

It's interesting that these new IRS jobs take affect the same month that Biden will raise everyone's taxes.

Can any of you whiners explain why the IRS audits anyone? As if the IRS is the bad guy for catching tax cheaters.

This claim misrepresents a 2021 U.S. Treasury Department report estimating that around $80 billion in funding would allow the IRS to incrementally hire nearly 87,000 employees by the year 2031. Most of those hires would be replacements for workers retiring from existing positions, including not only IRS enforcement agents, but also customer service and technology specialists. According to the Treasury Department, audit rates for those earning less than $400,000 in actual income will not rise.

I'm told that although the 87,000 new agents were hired to go after the super wealthy, this freed up the rest of the agents to go after the middle class.

I over paid on a quarterly payment and was charged $17 because I paid too much. They are giving the country away......and charge me for paying too much.

My tax return is currently being audited. The only thing I did wrong was overpay my quarterly estimates. I'm told my refund will be held up for at least 6 more weeks.

BTW I do not make $400k.

Thanks Biden you're really a pos.

Just as promised, the 87,000 new IRS auditors that really should have been Border Agents are going after the super wealthy. Breathe easy, ordinary people need not worry, it is just the super wealthy. These 87,000 agents are zeroed in on the 8,700 conservative Big Oil executives, not ordinary farmers and such.

You folks making under $400,000 will not be affected.
