Repubs love pipelines so much. Why not build a pipeline from Rock Hill to Wilkes for some low priced gas?

I was at Myrtle Beach a couple weekends ago, the roads didn't seem bad to me. But the cheapest gas I saw was $2.17, guess its cheaper in the Rock Hill area.

When was the last time you drove on roads in SC? Do that for a bit and then talk about taxes.

I live in SC now and the roads are crap at best.

Channel 12 showed regular in Rock Hill $1.87 a gallon. We need to cut our gas tax to SC levels.

Wholesale went up as much as 10¢ a gallon, at Friendship and Paw Creek terminals, where all the fuel in Wilkes comes from. Due to the refinery shutdown in Ohio. Product will have to be diverted to supply Michigan and Ohio.

People need to wake up and realize the the EPA is strangling businesses in the US. If you started today you probably would not have the necessary permits from then in 10 years. The newest refinery in the US is about 38 years old. You cannot run a plant of any kind at close to 100% capacity for 24/7/365. Another refinery goes off line, hang on to your hats, fuel will be over $4.00 no matter what crude is.

One thing you tend to forget is that right now about 25% of what you are paying for fuel is federal and state taxes. The service station owners made way more per gallon when it was under $1.00 than they do today. I was involved in the fuel products for many years. I know what I am talking about.
