last monday (the monday after our snow) i went to north wilkesboro. i knew that diesel in elkin was less than 2 dollars a gallon. don't exactly remember which one but in wilkes i saw it was 2.49.

Explain $1.58 in ASHE COUNTY on Monday... It's $1.89 here and they have to haul it up the dang mountain!!! But you can save 31¢/gallon up the mountain, if you need to go buy some cheese at the cheese factory or play a round of disc golf at the state's #1 rated disc golf course... :)

The point being Decsurvey aka D.A.!! Is the greedy in Wilkes makes $3000.00 more for every 25,000 they sell. That's out of our pockets. And if you could read it's not 169.9 it's, 160.9 which makes it $5250.00 for every 25,000 gal. So your saying these' s other Stores in the other counties aren't making a profit. These people are bleeding us dry. This county has ALWAYS been higher in their gas prices than surrounding. You tell us why??????

On a average 16 gallon fill up @ $1.699 is $27.18 and @ $1.819 is $29.10. A difference of $1.97.
One would not gain anything by driving 30 round trip to Elkin to save $1.97 as one will burn up that $1.97 saving in fuel to get there and back.
Also by not buying local in cities and towns you are taking a portion of the Powell Bill funds they receive to keep up the streets within the city limits from the ridiculously high state gas tax.

Gas in Elkin 160.9 today, gas in Ashe 157.9 today, state avg. is 178.6 natl. avg. 178.9 why is Wilkes avg. 181.9??????

i did also. regular unleaded 1.61 a gallon at circle k with their fuel rewards network card. without card 1.64. before that i got 10 cents a gallon off with their fuel card.
