Does Bremco owe your family money a story of possible fraud.

Yes my dads estate finally got his money that they were keeping but only after I reported them to Social services for possible fraud and they got involved and did their own investigation and told Blue Ridge to pay my fathers estate his money. However my dads estate didn't get paid any interest that they made for all the months they keep his money.

Any way the whole point of this thread is to make others aware of what happen so they can be sure that Blue ridge doesn't do this to their family. With as many people that they provide service to that receive electric/fuel help from social services my dad can't be the only one who's money they are sitting on and not returning when that person dies.

That's actually a pretty common scam... they get money and hold on to it for awhile, investing it either in the market or in their own stock. And then they return it when they think the market has hit a peak, allowing them to keep the profits.

We see it locally all the time... rich people owe millions in taxes, but they just invest that money until the very last second. The profits made are greater than the penalties, so they don't care. And more often than not, the county "settles" for a lower amount, anyway.

Money makes money...

Late last year my dad passed away as executor of his estate Blue ridge energy's sent me a statement showing he had more than $500.00 dollars in credit for fuel that he received from Social services. I requested that they deliver however much oil that would pay for to his house to insure the heat stayed on. I was told that since he was deceased they couldn't do that and had to return the money to Social Services which I was fine with.

For almost 8 months they sent me statements still showing the credit and I would request that they issue a check to my dads estate and they would repeat the we have to return the money story yet they never would. Finally I had enough of the lie's from them and reported them to Social Services for fraud since they weren't giving my dads estate the money but were also not returning the money to Social Services. Social Services gets involved and tells me that since that money was given to my dad before he died it belonged to his estate and told Blue Ridge to issue a check for the amount to my dads estate which they finally did.

They however didn't include any interest that they made off my dads money while they sat on it for months and months and months. With all the people they served my dad can't be the only one they have done this to. If you have any family or know of anyone that received assistance from Social Services for electric or fuel oil you should check to make sure their estate got the money and that Blue Ridge is not still sitting on it.
