Seniorflint, you should cast a vote against higher prices for everything and more illegal invaders of our country. Doesn't really matter if you like the party or the candidates.

Locally, vote for the candidate. The party doesn't matter.
State and Federal, vote for the party. The candidate matters a little bit, but for the most part they all just vote the way their party tells them to vote so that's the most important factor. I wouldn't vote for, say, a convicted rapist and fraudster just because of their party, though.
President, vote for the candidate. The party follows their lead.

Candidate. Both parties can have well qualified candidates and real stinkers too. I tend to vote FOR a candidate, not AGAINST a candidate.
