If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10

God said if you obey my voice I will be your God but the Israelites refused so God sent his Son to The world. Jesus brought the Good News speaking for the Father.
If you carry the Kingdom of God inside you should obey God.

◄q Luke 17:21 ►

King James Bible
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

New King James Version
nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you

Truncating another's writing doesn't actually change the need to give them credit. It is still intellectual theft or plagiarism.

Hiding Ritenbaugh's conclusions does not change the answer to your original question. The article that you copied and pasted was not Biblical nor was it truthful.

Jesus brought to the world the Good News of the kingdom of God becoming a child of God. How do you get into the Family of God???

What is Jesus' own testimony about the subject of His preaching? Notice these verses:

» Matthew 4:23: "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people."

» Matthew 24:14: "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."

» Luke 4:43: "[Jesus] said to them, 'I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.'"

» Luke 16:16: "The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time, the Kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it."

What good is being baptized if you are going to be disobedient. How can you be baptized if you don't obey the Father. The Good News comes directly from the Father through Jesus. Jesus didn't do nothing without the Father telling him. How will you be SAVED if you don't follow the Father through Jesus..

Matt. 28 Verses 19 to 20

[19] Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age

I didn't think it hard to understand, but okay.

You asked if what Ritenbaugh wrote was truthful. I replied " no" because it was not truthful.

You asked if what Ritenbaugh wrote was Biblical. I replied "no" because it was not Biblical.

Forky, I don't mind helping out on occasion, but if you want me to read and clear every internet article you come across we are going to have to renegotiate my contract.

I'd venture a good place to start would be to ask yourself: "Is this something I'd repeat on GoWilkes?" If the answer is "yes" there is a better than average chance it is neither truthful nor Biblical.

Isn't John Ritenbaugh the same guy that started "The Church of the Great God" down towards Charlotte? I'm not surprised that you found him, Forky. He preaches a whole lot of Forksterism and I'm not sure I'd call his particular brand of religion "Christianity." But, I'm sure you like him.

He teaches that folks are supposed to not do any work on Saturday including cooking or carrying anything around. He also teaches that keeping the Sabbath is the most important commandment (Ritenbaugh calls it the hinge that all the others depend on. As Christ didn't make any such statements, I am sure that I ain't going to put too much stock in anything Ritenbaugh said.

He also goes off the straight and narrow when he tries to say the Holy Spirit ain't nothing more than God's mind. Seems awful suspicious to me that Jesus would say to go out and start baptizing people in God's name, The Son's name and God's mind. But it sure does sound Forksterish.

So, you can lump Ritenbaugh in with whatever group you want, I don't think that "Christian" really fits him well. But I'm glad you found a home church to start frequenting. Just goes to prove that there's somewhere for everyone.

Mark 1:14-15

What is the gospel-the "good news"? "Just believe on the name of Jesus and you will be saved" is a common message of many preachers. Others proclaim that the gospel is that Jesus came to die for our sins. Still others preach a rather insipid and saccharine "Jesus loves you" message. All of those catchy phrases have relevance to Jesus' message-we certainly must believe in Jesus, He did die for our sins, and He surely loves us-but nowhere does Jesus directly state that the gospel is about Him!

Instead, the good news is about a momentous purpose that God is accomplishing. Jesus spoke the words that the Father gave Him to preach, most emphatically confirmed in John 12:49-50:

For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.

Jesus' announcement of the good news is that the Father will establish His Kingdom and His capital city on earth. He Himself will be here, no longer separated from His children-no longer unseen and ruling indirectly through agents from His present location in heaven but ruling directly on earth. It is to this awesome, mind-boggling future that we, as a part of His Family, are being summoned to prepare for and to participate directly in.

Jesus is certainly mankind's Savior, having died for our sins, but to be properly understood, that event must be seen within the context of preparation for and the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth. A kingdom has four basic elements: a king, a territory it occupies, subjects within that territory, and laws through which the will of the ruler is exercised. Each of these elements is part of the gospel.

Has the founder of any other religion offered a message and program that can even begin to match what Jesus taught? This is truly the most wonderful message mankind could possibly receive, and it came only through Jesus.
