Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.

16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

I do not think that Jesus engaged in the politics of His day including taking an Earthy view of slavery. Instead of participating in or commenting on the culture wars of His day, Jesus's purpose was eternal and not temporal.

How many earthly kingdoms and empires have risen to earthly glory only to crumble to dust? Jehovah allowed the Israelites to change their method of government knowing that it would be bad for them (1 Samuel 8.) Jesus avoided becoming an earthly king (John 6:15) though, to our mortal minds, He could have rectified all the world's ills.

It was not Christ's purpose or intention to fix the problems of this world. His focus was showing us the way to live in the next one.

antithesis the war of Northern Aggression didn't have to be but government needed slaves so the Agricultural South had to be Destroyed. for the industrial World that was being developed. Think about it if the supreme Court had said the Black as SLAVE was UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

The Dred Scott decision was the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on March 6, 1857, that having lived in a free state and territory did not entitle an enslaved person, Dred Scott, to his freedom. In essence, the decision argued that, as someone's property, Scott was not a citizen and could not sue in a federal court.

Ephesians and Colossians both call on slaves to be obedient to their masters. And Jesus never said anything about slavery being wrong.

Does that sound like something Jesus would do? Or more like something that a King that relied on slavery might add in about 1600 years later

In the book Exodus Moses speaks on treatment of SLAVES.

Mikey, that has nothing to do with anything... who said anything even close to God forcing people to follow Jesus?

Interesting to know, I think, that when the KJV was published the people hated it... he intentionally used archaic language, and no one talked that way! So it was difficult to understand, even in 1611.

And there are countless times where passages were changed to fit King James's desires.

Knowing what you know about Jesus, do you really think He would have supported slavery? Or that He would have said that government leaders are ordained by God?

Seems y'all Christian have done changed the teaching of Jesus into nothing but traditions of PAGAN RELIGION.

"Why don't your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with defiled hands?"

6 He replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:

"'These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
7 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.'[b]

8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions."

9 And he continued, "You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe[c] your own traditions

Then why do you constantly quote from the King James "Christian" Bible
&&&

It doesn't matter what Bible I use because Christians are going to do what they do. Christian folk needs to be truthful about Jesus.

The Pilgrims arrived in 1620 and brought with them the Geneva Bible, not the King James Bible. The KJV was seen as the Bible of the English King and the state Church of England which had been persecuting them. But by the mid-1600s, the King James Bible was arriving in the New World with the increasing flow of settlers.
