First IDs, now proof of citizenship to vote? Why not just propose biometrics at the polls? Everyone will need to have their eye scanned and blood taken for DNA to prove who they are!
Ps. Registering to vote already requires proof of citizenship.
This bill is nothing more than grandstanding.

Proof of citizenship is already required for voting eligibility. You are required to be registered in order to vote. You cannot be registered without proof of citizenship ergo; you cannot vote unless you are a citizen. SAVE is intended to make it difficult if not impossible for naturalized citizens to vote. Many naturalized citizens migrated to the USA to get away from the kinds of regime the extreme right would like to inflict upon us so they aint gonna vote repub. fyi: It takes at least four years (unless your name is von Bruan) to become a naturalized citizen.
