That's gonna be crazy: Newsom, Shapiro, Whitmer, Moore, Stein, Cooper...
That makes me feel better.

CG, the article I posted said that the NC electorate was really turned off by extremist platforms and rhetoric, which explains why the Republican candidates for governor, attorney General, and superintendent of schools were not elected.

Democratic Governor-elect Josh Stein received more than 3,040,405 million North Carolina votes on Election Day - the first statewide candidate EVER to exceed 3 million votes and162,500 more votes than Donald Trump.
This is wild- more votes than Trump!
Here's the article it was taken from : https://www.wral.com/story/.../21717115/

Oops. I forgot!
Congrats to Attorney General Josh Jackson!
North Carolina will need your help battling against unAmerican policies over the next four years.

Sadly, Oklahoma has become a pitiful wasteland. It's Florida without the beaches.

I am very grateful Mo is pro-public education. We could be in Oklahoma's situation :

I like the part where the Representative, who is also a Republican, says that Ryan just wants attention and that he and the House are going to wait and see what happens and what policy actually is.

Congrats to State Superintendent Mo Green. Shocking the right nominated an anti-school as their candidate, but whatchagonnado? Accept life's gifts when they are provided.

Umpire, Thank you spell checker, your contribution to this thread has been recorded, there will be a little something extra in your Christmas stocking this year. That's a good example of why one should not post before coffee.

Weird fact... more people in NC voted for Josh Stein than voted for Trump. More people voted for Jeff Jackson than voted for Trump. ****,more people voted for Luke Farley for Commissioner of Labor than voted for Trump!
Isn't that weird? That people went to the polls and were more concerned with the Commissioner of Labor than the President?

Conrad, that will be for two years, there will be another election. Last I saw there was one, vote of a super majority and anything can happen. Hate to burst your bubble but the state auditor and treasurer are republicans. Auditor can do a lot of damage to a state agency or department. Stein does have some good ideas but will they be implemented? Time will tell.

CG, that's what you call F around and Find out. I hate it - some people will really have to feel the bite of their decisions before it will dawn on them.

There are also reports of businesses talking to their employees this week about the effects of tariffs on the bottom line, and paychecks. Some businesses are saying they have to spend so much on stockpiling materials before Fat Fuhrer gets into office that it will affect bonuses, raises, and jobs. Employees were, of course, shocked.

This is scary.
Anyone who depends on public schools for anything AND voted for Trump, well, let's just say this is going to be the finding out stage, and unfortunately other people who did not will be right there with them.
Everytime Trump's policies impact someone negatively, I hope they have the sense not to complain to me because I will definitely not feel sorry for them if they chose him. Either you agree with him or you are too much of a to have gotten informed.

It will be a bulwark. How strong of one remains to be seen. Conservatives no longer believe in state's rights.
But at least we won't be capitulating like those poor people in Florida or Texas, who no longer have basic freedoms.
